I think Obama figured the job was done when he carried out the initial attack- consequences of it are unimportant to him because his purpose wasn't to defeat Qadaffi and his loyalists, or Qadaffi's alQaeda opponents, it was simply to as others have pointed out, to establish a precedent of internationalist meddling in other nation's domestic affairs, even if such meddling goes against our own national interests.

Victory wasn't his objective; he wins even if we lose because he already achieved his objective just by going to war without meaningful opposition, without debate of any kind, without press inquiry or criticism, without having to logically persuade or lead his nation into it, and not even with the support of his own people, who haven't even noticed how much warring around this guy does.

The liberals have figured out they can be hawks and support war for oil or war for the hell of it ...so long as they can keep Americans from knowing wars are even is going on, and only announce troop deployments on Christmas eve.

Now, when someone other than a Democrat is in office, then the Democrats want to bring up the draft so as to make sure all the kids know there is a war. Notice that no such draft proposal has been raised since.
