Tim Tebow to Speak at Anti-Gay, Anti-Semitic Church [Hatred for Christians Continues in Media]

New York Jets quarterback Tim Tebow is scheduled to speak at a megachurch in Dallas whose pastor has spoken out against Muslims, Jews, Mormons and members of the LGBT community.

Tebow is listed as a special guest at one of the First Baptist Church's morning services on April 28, according to its website.

The church is led by Evangelical pastor Robert Jeffress, who has previously denounced non-Christian religions such as Islam, Judaism and Mormonism.

Leading up to the most recent presidential election, Jeffress warned parishioners that re-electing President Barack Obama would "lead to the rise of the Antichrist," according to The Christian Post.

While denouncing the repeal of "Don't Ask, Don't Tell," Jeffress also declared that 70 percent of the gay population has AIDS, and referred to it as "a gay disease," according to ThinkProgress.org.

Tebow has made no secret of the fact that he's a devout Christian, but has shied away from taking a stance on controversial social issues.

I am also of the Jewish race.

Jewish isn't a race friend, any more than Baptist is.

The term Messianic Jew is proper. It distinguishes between Christians who are Gentiles and Christians who are Jews. The first church and the first Christians were all Jews. Christianity is a Jewish religion and started that way. Just because there are more Gentiles in the world than Jews (and thus more Gentile Christians) doesn’t mean that Jesus is not a Jew and that Christianity is not a Jewish religion and that we are not observing the same Jewish religion that Jesus, as the Messiah of Israel intends to carry out in this world.

The Bible is a Jewish book and the Old Testament and the New Testament are Jewish writings. It was the Jews that God used to carry forth His Word to the world - including to all these Gentiles.

Listen to what the Apostle Paul says (and he’s fully Jewish and Christian) ...

Romans 10
1 I say then, has God cast away His people? Certainly not! For I also am an Israelite, of the seed of Abraham, of the tribe of Benjamin.

2 God has not cast away His people whom He foreknew. Or do you not know what the Scripture says of Elijah, how he pleads with God against Israel, saying,

3 “Lord, they have killed Your prophets and torn down Your altars, and I alone am left, and they seek my life”?

4 But what does the divine response say to him? “I have reserved for Myself seven thousand men who have not bowed the knee to Baal.”

5 Even so then, at this present time there is a remnant according to the election of grace.

6 And if by grace, then it is no longer of works; otherwise grace is no longer grace. But if it is of works, it is no longer grace; otherwise work is no longer work.

7 What then? Israel has not obtained what it seeks; but the elect have obtained it, and the rest were blinded.

8 Just as it is written: “God has given them a spirit of stupor, Eyes that they should not see And ears that they should not hear, To this very day.”

9 And David says: “Let their table become a snare and a trap, A stumbling block and a recompense to them.

10 Let their eyes be darkened, so that they do not see, And bow down their back always.”

11 I say then, have they stumbled that they should fall? Certainly not! But through their fall, to provoke them to jealousy, salvation has come to the Gentiles.

12 Now if their fall is riches for the world, and their failure riches for the Gentiles, how much more their fullness!

13 For I speak to you Gentiles; inasmuch as I am an apostle to the Gentiles, I magnify my ministry,

14 if by any means I may provoke to jealousy those who are my flesh and save some of them.

15 For if their being cast away is the reconciling of the world, what will their acceptance be but life from the dead?

16 For if the firstfruit is holy, the lump is also holy; and if the root is holy, so are the branches.

17 And if some of the branches were broken off, and you, being a wild olive tree, were grafted in among them, and with them became a partaker of the root and fatness of the olive tree,

18 do not boast against the branches. But if you do boast, remember that you do not support the root, but the root supports you.

19 You will say then, “Branches were broken off that I might be grafted in.”

20 Well said. Because of unbelief they were broken off, and you stand by faith. Do not be haughty, but fear.

21 For if God did not spare the natural branches, He may not spare you either.

22 Therefore consider the goodness and severity of God: on those who fell, severity; but toward you, goodness, if you continue in His goodness. Otherwise you also will be cut off.

23 And they also, if they do not continue in unbelief, will be grafted in, for God is able to graft them in again.

24 For if you were cut out of the olive tree which is wild by nature, and were grafted contrary to nature into a cultivated olive tree, how much more will these, who are natural branches, be grafted into their own olive tree?

25 For I do not desire, brethren, that you should be ignorant of this mystery, lest you should be wise in your own opinion, that blindness in part has happened to Israel until the fullness of the Gentiles has come in.

26 And so all Israel will be saved, as it is written: “The Deliverer will come out of Zion, And He will turn away ungodliness from Jacob;

27 For this is My covenant with them, When I take away their sins.”

28 Concerning the gospel they are enemies for your sake, but concerning the election they are beloved for the sake of the fathers.

29 For the gifts and the calling of God are irrevocable.

30 For as you were once disobedient to God, yet have now obtained mercy through their disobedience,

31 even so these also have now been disobedient, that through the mercy shown you they also may obtain mercy.

32 For God has committed them all to disobedience, that He might have mercy on all.

33 Oh, the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of God! How unsearchable are His judgments and His ways past finding out!

34 “For who has known the mind of the Lord? Or who has become His counselor?”

35 “Or who has first given to Him And it shall be repaid to him?”

36 For of Him and through Him and to Him are all things, to whom be glory forever. Amen.

Journalists follow athletes around all the time, scrutinizing their speaking engagements. Tebow isn’t being singled out for any other reason than he just can’t play at the professional level. /s

It’s the descendants that God speaks about that indicates they will not disappear as a people or a race or a nation ...

One particular verse ...
“If those ordinances depart From before Me, says the Lord, Then the seed of Israel shall also cease From being a nation before Me forever.” [Jeremiah 31:36]

This “Israel” that God speaks about is of the line of “Abraham, Isaac and Jacob” - Jacob being the father of the tribes of “Israel” (God having changed his name to “Israel”).

Jeremiah 31
31 “Behold, the days are coming, says the Lord, when I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel and with the house of Judah—

32 not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day that I took them by the hand to lead them out of the land of Egypt, My covenant which they broke, though I was a husband to them, says the Lord.

33 But this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, says the Lord: I will put My law in their minds, and write it on their hearts; and I will be their God, and they shall be My people.

34 No more shall every man teach his neighbor, and every man his brother, saying, ‘Know the Lord,’ for they all shall know Me, from the least of them to the greatest of them, says the Lord. For I will forgive their iniquity, and their sin I will remember no more.”

35 Thus says the Lord, Who gives the sun for a light by day, The ordinances of the moon and the stars for a light by night, Who disturbs the sea, And its waves roar (The Lord of hosts is His name):

36 “If those ordinances depart From before Me, says the Lord, Then the seed of Israel shall also cease From being a nation before Me forever.”

37 Thus says the Lord: “If heaven above can be measured, And the foundations of the earth searched out beneath, I will also cast off all the seed of Israel For all that they have done, says the Lord.

38 “Behold, the days are coming, says the Lord, that the city shall be built for the Lord from the Tower of Hananel to the Corner Gate.

39 The surveyor’s line shall again extend straight forward over the hill Gareb; then it shall turn toward Goath.

40 And the whole valley of the dead bodies and of the ashes, and all the fields as far as the Brook Kidron, to the corner of the Horse Gate toward the east, shall be holy to the Lord. It shall not be plucked up or thrown down anymore forever.”

This is a prophecy that the Messiah of Israel (Jesus) will fulfill when He returns to earth to set up the Kingdom. God says He will preserve the Jews (of the line of Israel - i.e., from Abraham, Isaac and Jacob) forevermore - never to be extinguished.

Also in Jeremiah 33

19 And the word of the Lord came to Jeremiah, saying,

20 “Thus says the Lord: ‘If you can break My covenant with the day and My covenant with the night, so that there will not be day and night in their season,

21 then My covenant may also be broken with David My servant, so that he shall not have a son to reign on his throne, and with the Levites, the priests, My ministers.

22 As the host of heaven cannot be numbered, nor the sand of the sea measured, so will I multiply the descendants of David My servant and the Levites who minister to Me.’ “

23 Moreover the word of the Lord came to Jeremiah, saying,

24 “Have you not considered what these people have spoken, saying, ‘The two families which the Lord has chosen, He has also cast them off’? Thus they have despised My people, as if they should no more be a nation before them.

25 “Thus says the Lord: ‘If My covenant is not with day and night, and if I have not appointed the ordinances of heaven and earth,

26 then I will cast away the descendants of Jacob and David My servant, so that I will not take any of his descendants to be rulers over the descendants of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. For I will cause their captives to return, and will have mercy on them.’ “

Isn’t he the pastor who said the Holocaust was necessary to bring about the re-birth of the Jewish national homeland? Not «anti-semitic».

I have ancestors in my family line, in which husband and wife were separated in different parts of the country, one part never to see the other. I have a grandmother separated from the old country - never to be able to return for the rest of her life to see her immediate family. I have a grandfather who suffered being orphaned at a young age and passed around from family to family, not really wanted by anyone. But, for all that suffering and separation and tragedy - I would have never been here. I’m grateful I’m here today.

Does that mean I hate my ancestors and would have wished them ill and would have wanted them to suffer and have to live with all that for the rest of their lives. No, it doesn’t - but I do recognize why I’m here today - and it’s because of that.

And likewise, there was immense suffering and sacrifice for many in the Holocaust and those who perpetrated it will themselves be responsible in the end. And because of that Holocaust, there was the environment in the world, which did contribute to the sequence of political events - including the 1947 United Nations Partition Plan - which the Jews fought very hard to secure - that resulted in the formation of the State of Israel.

And now Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu can say to the world (and has said, just recently, too) - that the difference between the Jews then (during the Holocaust) and the Jews now - is that they in Israel have the ability to defend themselves.

SO ... yes ... we can fully recognize the evil of the Holocaust and full recognize the part it played in the formation of the nation of Israel, sanctioned by the world community - at that time - in the United Nations.

I remember a Sunday in SouthTexas, where a man (huge Texan farmer) and his 5 boys and wife came and sat in the second pew. All 6 took off their hats and waited to sit until mom sat down. Many watched as all kneeled praying and sang the songs, lots of yes ma’ams and yes sirs. You know I asked where they were from. They were visitors “passin on the way to Oklahoma”. I dont know much about what the pastor spoke about that day, and I bet many do not, but I can tell you I will never forget the example. Children are waiting for a leader....in fact many adults are as well.

I love to hear Bible-believing/teaching leaders, too. But one thing we must remember is that we already have our leader. He is Jesus the Messiah of Israel. And God has given us everything that we need to know and that we are intended to know about Him. We need no more and no other. We have Him already.

Each one of us has that leader in Jesus, the Messiah of Israel - from the Scriptures that God has given us. And one day, we will see Him return to earth to set up His Kingdom, ruling from Jerusalem over all the nations of the world (the ones we see today). That is soon to come.

Then we will have our one-world leader and our one-world government - the one that God intended to have installed on this earth.

Yes, I agree. For those that know Him.
For those that do not...we are his Ambassadors and we are not leading, we have become the tail. I do not speak individually, I speak as the Church of Christ. We have had countless opportunities. If we do have a voice, it is hardly recognizeable because we choose to try and fit in. I wait for the day, but we cannot be a Martha only.
With all due respect.

You cannot accept Jesus and remain Jewish.

Doing so means you have abandoned Torah to commit the sin of idolatry.
