The “progressive” activist group MoveOn.org posted a television commercial to You Tube yesterday featuring a self-proclaimed gun rights proponent warning politicians of electoral consequences if they don’t support more “gun control” laws.
“The six-figure ad buy is running for a week on national cable and will air during the Sunday morning political talk shows,” The Hill reported.
"I'm a gun owner and a proud defender of the Second Amendment, but for years I've watched Congress take money from the NRA and then oppose any kind of reform that helps keep us safe," a man identified in the video as Ohio gun owner Jerry Thompson declares.
“After the Newtown massacre and the NRA's disgusting response, I've had enough, Thompson growls, warning members of Congress if they “take money from the NRA, and then continue to do their bidding, we're gonna remember that come election time."

If Little Jerry actually was a “gun owner and proud defender of the Second Amendment”, he’d be a member of the NRA. IMHO, Little Jerry is a leftist liar who does propaganda ads for MorOns.org. JMO.
“Sensible gun control” is banning the guns they are afraid of, while “allowing” you to keep a deer rifle and a duck hunting shotgun.
Wonder if he's kin to Jim Thompson of FR fame?

Sensible - another subjective word re-purposed by liberals to ONLY fit their objective. Just like “affordable” as in “affordable housing”.
To me “Sensible Gun Control” means removing all restrictions on people that are no threat to society, and making darn sure that people that use a gun in a crime paid BIG TIME.
To me “Affordable Housing” is ANY house that a person lives in and is paying his way for. This includes the shed that President Obama’s uncle lives in (assuming he pays for it), and the mansion that Bill Gates lives in. Both houses are “affordable” because the persons living in them can “afford” them.
But does it matter - liberals OWN the language. It’s very rare that we get any victories in this area.
What kind of gun does he own? IMO, some lefty member of Moveon goes and buys a gun, never uses it, buries it someplace, and claims he’s a proud owner.
Should be easy to find out who this guy is.
Self delusion is a key element of the leftist mind.
If he lives near new yawk, should be easy enough to find him. Didn’t some leftwing rag publish an interactive map of registered firearms owners a few weeks back? Also if he is NOT on the map, how can he honestly claim to be a firearms owner?

This ad is the same as the talk show callers who say, “I’m a conservative, BUT...”
And it deserves the same credence.
Remember back in 2010. Zerobama told all the Dems it was safe to vote for Zerocare because “You’ve got me”
This is the same sort of garbage. The only consequences will be for those who vote for this freedom-hating crap.
Because Progressives act out of religious belief and fervor as much as political motivations, they can utter the kind of preposterous, self-contradictory nonsense that would choke a conservative, and with a straight face, fully expecting to be believed...
No conservative or libertarian would pretend to progressive convictions to advance our cause...The very idea would be anathema to us...The thought of pretending to Progressive ideas makes me throw up in my mouth at least a little...
But for the religious Left, just think “Taqqiyah”, and you may have the idea...Anything to advance the cause...
