The Obama Kiss of Death claims another business
Breitbart ^ | 2/17/13 | John Hayward

Remember Ray's Hell Burgers, the burger joint Obama visited a couple of times early in his first term? Dead. Kaput. The latest victims of the Obama Kiss of Death, in which seemingly every business he personally visits - especially those he touts as New Economy success stories - goes bankrupt.

Sometimes this is understandable, as in the case of those green energy losers he keeps picking. But other times it really does seem like a curse.

Rays was one of those operations that opened as an independent operation here in Arlington, back in the summer of 2008, without much advertising. It was out on Wilson Blvd and was supposed to attract the young yuppie spenders that live along the street there.

If you’ve watched the trend since 2010...various independent operations have opened on Wilson Blvd, and probably a quarter of them shut down within four years.

The locals would mostly say that the place peaked on enthusiasm back in 2011, and has had trouble making the rent payments over the past year. I’d be the first to agree that rent along Wilson Blvd is pretty hefty, and this was the wrong place for a start-up....but if you want business of the yuppies....this is the only way to get it.

Note, a regular burger was $7 at Rays....but everything beyond the regular stuff you put on it....added up. So when you added any fancy cheese, figure another $2. So with a beer and fries...you were paying close to $14 (remember VA has a great sales tax).

Virginia is also the home of Five Guys and they are pretty damn hard to beat.

Going back to Breitbart and the HuffPo stories, it seems they decided to close and go out of business over a lease dispute? Seems strange. So move.

(tho, granted, Arlington and DC Metro area real estate seems to have picked up the slack suffered throughout the rest of the country. I think it’s also pricing itself out of the market altogether. Time will tell.)

Given a choice between Micky D’s and Five Guys....I’d pick Five Guys every time. But, you’d have to pay double, for your burger at Five Guys. And your grease content at Five Guys is probably double as well.

Could he be the anti-Christ? Just asking!

A place named Hell Burgers couldn't even ward off the Obama death kiss, so... hmmm.

And they're worth every penny. They opened one up by my house here in north Jacksonville. I joke that they must be made with crack because they're that addictive! I don't know how they do it? It's only a cheeseburger.

“And your grease content at Five Guys is probably double as well.”

Well, that is probably a good thing. As we all know you never really outgrow your need for Grease.

By the time you buy the burger, fries and drink you might as well go out for a steak dinner.

It's one of the four main food groups.

Salt
Sugar
Grease
Alcohol

The food business has a high burnout rate. You wake up one day and decide that work and stress is just not worth the low profit margin.
