There was...for all practical purposes....a private war, that the Pentagon knew next to nothing about, that CIA could only speculate about, and the State Department was mostly in the dark about....run by individuals out of the White House, with some script and strategy that was never discussed openly in front of the CIA or Pentagon. For this alone, you have to wonder what the ultimate goal of the private was all about. If you couldn’t tell Leon, or the State Department...it just begs questions.

And if we agree on this being ok, then there’s nothing much to stop any Texas governor, or California governor from conducting a private war in Somalia or the Sudan, without consulting the White House, or the Pentagon. This just opens up the door to really bold and stupid moves.

Yup, secret massive Libya/Syria arms-smuggling program run by WH/JSOC, and secret AQ assasination program run by a honky muzzie tooootally sure that **HE** really can mold AQ/MB into the good guys he realllllly knows they can be, deeeep down, uh-huh.....

So the day of light was beginning to fall onto their covert shenanigans, and if not for two SEALS who ran towards the sound of gunfire, then we’d have had about 45 people dead that night, and not just 4.

Where was Preezy, the man who could have ordered a full rescue..?

He covered his cowardly jug-ears and WENT TO BED.

He preferred for them to all die, if it would prevent 1% less scrutiny on his secret, dirty little war.

I was always puzzled by the approach that congress used to address questioning. Some information that I wish would have been brought out:
*The range of the drones, I believe to be 470 miles and they leave from a CIA base. That puts high tech assets and CIA personal within 250 mile.
*Where were the closest Jets.
The last I knew, with 1968 technology fast movers could hit 1800mph,,, I don't know about todays planes but mach 3 I'm sure is not out of question. I also believe they can have satellite data loaded in flight and hit a target within 10 meters
Rome only 780 miles away and, Air Craft carriers, who knows. So my best guess is that we could have a supersonic fly by within thirty minutes after take off,,, from Italy and probably less than that from a carrier.
*What was all the talk about “The C-130 gunships” that move at about 300mph.
They're nice machines, but come on, why not ask where the nearest row boat was.
Something in the investigation doesn't hold water.
The investigation needs to be done by a private (non-Congressional) group without a bunch of congressional personal that have so much dirt on each other they only give America the impression of scrutiny. Another reason for term limits.
