SEPTEMBER 2002 : (SENATOR HAGEL GOES ON TRIP TO IRAQ SPONSORED BY IRAQ OIL FOR FOOD BANDIT SHAKIR AL KHAFAGI) Shakir Al-Khafaji (12 million barrels), a well-connected Detroit-area businessman who led a delegation of anti-war Congressional Democrats to Baghdad in September 2002 and who funded an anti-sanctions documentary produced by former weapons inspector Scott Ritter.
Ritter and Congressional Democrats. Which Congressional Democrats?

*******
The Oil for Food scandal has obvious implications for the policy he’s been advocating of subjecting U.S. interests to a Security Council veto. GOP Senator Chuck Hagel is another U.N. booster. If they mean what they say about enhancing the power of the U.N., in Iraq and elsewhere, then they in particular have an obligation to ensure that the world body is both effective and free of corruption. -—— “Oil for Scandal : Where’s Jesse Helms when the U.N. really needs him?,” WSJ Opinion journal, Thursday, March 18, 2004 12:01 a.m. EST
What I remember is that Aburdene is a campaign contributor to Hagel through one of his PACs. But if you look further, you will see that Hagel has been part of a bunch of commissions to all parts of the world, and oddly enough the name Aburdene pops up among the other members of the commission. It is my guess that these are all members of the same family. 101 posted on 07/15/2005 6:27:30 PM PDT by Eva | To 98
OCTOBER 28, 2009 WED : (OBAMA INTRODUCES CHUCK HAGEL & DAVID BOREN AS CO-CHAIRMEN OF THE PRESIDENT’S INTELLIGENCE ADVISORY BOARD / PIAB [WHICH WOULD EXPLAIN THE BAD INTELLIGENCE WE SEE LATER ON BENGHAZI?]) SNIPPET: On Wednesday, President Barack Obama introduced former Nebraska Sen. Chuck Hagel and former Oklahoma Sen. David Boren as co-chairmen of the Presidents Intelligence Advisory Board.
The goal of the board, Hagel said Wednesday, is to provide thoughtful, informed and independent advice to the president regarding Americas intelligence-gathering agencies and how they can best work effectively to collect and share information to make critical decisions.————Obama names Hagel co-chairman of intelligence board, By CORY MATTESON / Lincoln Journal Star | Posted: Wednesday, October 28, 2009 7:45 pmhttp://journalstar.com/news/local/govt-and-politics/article_9ef29dee-c424-11de-b267-001cc4c002e0.html
Because we are now living in the last of days, whether some like it or not.
It is what it is. I once had some kind of hope we could change it, but He knew better (duh!!!).
Prepare is all I can say.
Well, I’ve been of a mind that the opposition to Hagel was never really about his fitness (or lack thereof) to be SecDef. He just happened to be a convenient bargaining chip to leverage against the administration. Now that they have gotten a bone or two from Obama on Benghazi, Hagel will probably sail through. Graham may vote no just to shore up his support back home. Most of the GOP will probably vote Aye on Hagel, I’d wager, and planned to all along.
I wish I could be less cynical about Beltway politics, especially when it comes to the Senate, but I really can’t anymore.
We REALLY need an “ Eagle Eye” moment to solve this governmental quagmire.
So which show were we watching?
Dog? Pony? Kibuki? Bread and Circus?
FU John McLame and Linda Graham.
demanded my ass. The President did not make a single phone call on Benghazi that night. He was more interested in Las Vegas campaign event than our consulate. He did nothing and then lied about it. scum bag.
I’m sick of all this bullshit.
That’s good. Obama has tasked his staff to find out what he was doing the night of the Benghazi attacks and why he did absolutely nothing for seven and a half hours.
Duh.
It is AMAZING to me how many here still do not understand what is happening to us.
The Republicans are NOT the home team. They are the ENEMY.
The only difference between the Republican Party and the Democratic Party is that we still are able to destroy the Republican Party before it finishes its transformation into the "legal opposition" to the designated Leading Party.
The Republicans, if they are not destroyed, will become like the "official" other parties in the GDR or the USSR - their "leaders" will be state employees and their followers will be nonexistent.

In other words, Republicans once again snatch defeat from the jaws of victory.
And, this is a surprise to whom?
The sellout of America by the GOPe continues unchecked.
I am thoroughly disgusted! Lot of good it does me. :(
So far as Benghazi is concerned, I think the main problem was that no help was within a reasonable travel time. Now, if sequester goes through, this will probably get even worse.
Anyone surprised? The GOP is a dead carcass. It's past time to bury it. There really is no hope in it ever being relevant again.
What a crock. Republicans justy played this little game to make them look like they had balls. A total lie.
What a crock our political “leaders” have become. They must have signs when elected,
“Leave Your Spine and Balls at the Front Door.”
Then what was the point of blocking him in the first place? SHOW? How stupid do they think we are?
