So how is it possible that some of the most successful and intelligent people in the United States cansuddenly become stupid the moment they walk in the door of Congress? Or alternatively, how is it possible that these intelligent and successful people suddenly become unlucky? Is there any logical explanation? Isn't it much more likely that the people in congress are just as lucky and intelligent as they were the day before they were elected? And if that is true, how can you explain the "stupid" things that these intelligent and successful politicians do?

It's not only those in power who are guilty of acting with malice.
The otherwise very nice woman in your office who just had an abortion and tells everyone about it is acting with malice; she is invested in killing an innocent baby, and is campaigning to weaken your moral standards - "How can you judge me?" she asks, imploring you to accept her evil decision, knowing that you will find it hard to judge her, because after all, she is so nice in all other respects.
The fellow in your church who thinks that having a practicing homosexual in the pulpit is just fine - "It's wrong to discriminate against people who have a different sexuality - you shouldn't judge people. We're all sinners after all." - is acting with malice; he is engaging in destroying your moral standards. He tries to lay a guilt trip on you, telling you that there are no objective moral principles to reach for.
The progressives in power could not be there without their foot soldiers who practice what their leaders preach.

AND ... anyone who speaks out against, even in gentle firmness, is then isolated, forever after looked at suspiciously as an unloving malcontent while the herd goes on their “enlightened” (as by an “angel of light”) way.

It is time to loudly and publicly shout these people down and get in their faces. Don’t be shy, or nice. then shun them into irrelevance.
