In-N-Out owner Lynsi Torres, is 30-years-old with no college degree and no formal business training. But she has been called the youngest billionaire in America.
Lynsi Torres inherited a California icon when she was given half ownership of Baldwin Park native In-N-Out burger when she turned 30 last year. This week, Bloomberg Magazine named Torres the youngest, wealthiest woman in America, given that she will receive full ownership of the estimated $1.1 billion burger empire when she turns 35.
Torres inherited the In-N-Out empire from her grandparents, Harry and Esther Snyder who founded the Christian-themed chain in 1948 with their first location in Baldwin Park. Torres father Harry Guy Snyder took ownership of the empire in 1993 until he passed away of a prescription drug overdose in 1999. Torres grandmother Esther took control of the company until she died at age 86 in 2006.

She didn’t build that!!
Seems to be too busy buying things to be political.
Awesome hamburger! I wish they would expand to the East Coast!
Fat Mike’s, in northern NJ, used to make a great burger. It was 10 inches in diameter and called ‘The Garbage Can’. Don’t know if they’re still in business.
Good food, clean surroundings and friendly employees.
From grandparents who built a Christian business to a father who OD’d to daughter who is on her third marriage by the age of 30. A perfect symbol of what has happened to our country over the past three generations or so.
So if you get a burger there does that mean you done the old in and out?
Yep. Says it all, doesn’t it?
The most consistent, best-tasting, fast food hamburger I’ve ever had.
It tends to happen in a lot of wealthy families. Joe Kennedy was an SOB but he knew business and was a go-getter. A couple of Kennedy generations later and we have a bunch of drug addicts and absolutely useless slugs.
Forbe’s magazine calls it the “rags to riches to rags in 3 generations” phenomenon. We will see if the young woman can avoid it.
She clawed her way to the top.
Congratulations are in order for the achievement!
She “clawed” nothing. Her parents were instrumental in increasing the chain and the brand. She inherited it, and was wise enough to let the upper managers manage (ie, shut up and get out of the way). She’s very wealthy (and we are meant to be together! LOL), but she is no captain of industry.
“Phone’s ringin’ Dude.”
This is late but you know the circumstances.
I meant no praise to the woman. She got all she has by accident of birth. I often use the phrase “clawed her—or his—way to the top” to denigrate such people.
Has she gone all comme yet?
The super rich seem to do that regularly
She’ll turn it into a gay-themed chain probably
oughtta sell a lot of chili-dogs
She made it out of the womb alive. It’s all been smooth sailing since.
Hey Lynsi, I’m single!! :p
