Milwaukee County Sheriff David Clarke is calling proposals to seize firearms unconstitutional and warns of dire consequences if such plans are enacted.
“This is about attacking the Second Amendment, it’s about going after the wrong crowd,”.
Clarke blasted gun-control proposals triggered by presidential executive orders and said he would not enforce unconstitutional laws.
“First of all, to me that would be an act of tyranny,”. ‘So the people in Milwaukee County do not have to worry about me enforcing some sort of order that goes out and collects everybody’s handgun, or rifles, or any kind of firearm and makes them turn them in.
“The reason is I don’t want to get shot, because I believe that if somebody tried to enforce something of that magnitude, you would see the second coming of an American Revolution, the likes of which would make the first revolution pale by comparison.”
Clark said attacks on assault rifles miss the target, too.
“This has nothing to do with violence reduction because the type of violence that we’re talking about, that I see on the streets in the Milwaukee area on a daily basis, is not even committed using the weapons that the left is trying to ban.
Clarke also said firearms background checks don’t work. He told Jones the gunman in the Sikh temple shooting in his county a few months ago passed such a check.
“My understanding is the creep in Aurora, Colo., who shot up the theater, also passed a background check.”
The sheriff said: “This isn’t about background checks, of which the overwhelming majority of gun transfers go on anyway. This is about attacking the Second Amendment, it’s about going after the wrong crowd.”
Clarke said the Obama administration’s real target is more government control over society. ”

Clarke said people should realize that a gun grab would be unconstitutional.
“Read the Declaration of Independence, it’s right there where a law-abiding people say ‘enough is enough, you are exerting too much influence in our lives, this is tyrannical and we’re going to stop it,’ that’s what they are worried about.”

The first time some cops get shot while trying to enforce such a seizure the anti-gun nuts (really!) will come out and say “See that! See that!! - there should be no guns at all!!” Then of course that’ll make the street gangs happier.

They would likely merely circumvent him, and maybe arrest him in the process. These are not nice people. They do not care about law, nor decency, nor the lives of those they are not allied with. One of the greatest dangers is to underestimate what they are capable of.

Right. These people want their way or the highway. They would force the guy out even fire the whole department. That is why I sense that eventually one will have to stand up to them. These people are both fascists and socialists.
That is a good point and one we should always keep in mind.
Also don’t forget that a lot of them are good guys. Of course it will get easier and easier to tell which is which.
They should be impeaching Obama in congress, but instead they are forcing it to turn into chaos.

Agree that underestimation would be error. But overestimation would also be a mistake. Clarke speaks to the real nature of the problem the left has with an armed civilian population. We can thwart their end game. They know it, and they were hoping we didn’t know it. But we do. This is anything but over.

And it's quite understandable, since the ever expanding, all controlling bloated government at all levels, has intentionally created nearly every single problem facing America today.
