Delaware County District Attorney Jack Whelan says investigators are trying to determine if the injuries Bailey received in the fight caused his seizures.
“Some of the doctors say he can hear us, so I talk to him,” said Joy Fecanin while in tears. “I say, 'I’m going to give you a big kiss.'”
Fecanin’s 11-year-old grandson Bailey lies in a coma after suffering several seizures. As his family continues to hope for a recovery, they also want the school bullies accused of attacking Bailey brought to justice.
Fecanin says Bailey was jumped by two classmates during recess at Darby Township School last month and suffered a broken nose as a result. He then began to suffer seizures the next day, forcing doctors to put him into a medically-induced coma.
“He had to have a blood transfusion,” said Fecanin. “He has pneumonia.”
While the students who jumped Bailey were suspended for two days, police have not yet revealed whether they will be criminally charged.
“I would like to see these kids punished,” said Fecanin. “Something has to be done. I don’t know what’s taking them so long.”

“We can assure them that we are going to continue with our investigation,” said Whelan.
Bailey’s younger brother was taken out of the school because his parents are worried the same thing will happen to him.

As a middle-aged, white, church-going, productive citizen, I feel that I would be criminally charged if I so much as sneezed wrong.
The totally irresponsible people in our society? Young? Old? Black? White? Brown? They can beat people senseless, or do anything else they'd like. No harm. No foul. No criminal charges.
Sucks to be a law-abiding citizen these days. Society is structured to benefit everyone who doesn't play by the rules.
Those savages would have received greater punishment if they had drawn a picture of them shooting the kid.
Breaking someone’s nose is part of the “Nedding” urban phenomena.
Multiple on one? Shoot them, walk away, and shut up.
Stick them in Lima with all the other feral animals for a few days. That will be a life-altering experience for them.
Two day suspension for bullies who put a kid in the hospital but a weeks suspension for a kid who made a gun out of the letter “L” - or pointing his finger like a gun or throwing imaginary hand grenades. You all get the point.

That was my first thought also. Not going to see a "It Gets Better" program for the benefit of kids like this.

Bullied is when they say mean things to you. Assault and Battery is when they gang up on you and beat you and break your nose.
A 5 yr old threatens a girl with a Hello Kitty bubble blower in the shape of a gun and she got 5 days. These animals beat a boy and break his nose, causing who knows what other damage, and they get 2 days. Only in Gov’t schools....
