Progressive Tax-Exempt Group’s Secret Plan to ‘Eviscerate,’ ‘Cripple’ GOP
The Other McCain ^ | February 23, 2013 | Staff

Posted on 02/24/2013 4:21:36 AM PST by lbryce

Blueprint NC is “a nonprofit that coordinates the activities of liberal-leaning nonprofits” in North Carolina and when this 501(c) group’s communications director Stephanie Bass forwarded a strategy memo to member organizations, she included a disclaimer:

“CONFIDENTIAL to Blueprint, so please be careful – share with your boards and appropriate staff, but not the whole world.”

Oops. The memo got leaked to reporter Mark Binker at WRAL in Raleigh. The contents are quite disturbing and clearly partisan:

“The most effective way to mitigate the worst legislation is to weaken our opponents’ ability to govern by crippling their leaders (McCrory, Tillis, Berger, etc…)” the memo reads, referring to the governor, House Speaker Thom Tillis and Senate President Pro Tem Phil Berger. The memo goes on to describe a “potential two-year vision” during which the groups would “eviscerate the leadership and weaken their ability to govern.”

Matt Vespa at PJ Tatler has many more details on the shocking partisanship carried out by this tax-exempt 501 (c)(3) group.

Let me bring this a little closer to home for regular readers: Why do you think I’ve devoted so much coverage to Bill Schmalfeldt’s relentless harassment of Lee Stranahan?

Perhaps a better question: Do you suppose Stranahan was randomly selected for this harassment? Can’t you see that Lee’s association with Breitbart.com is the motive for the attacks on him, and isn’t it obvious that this is part of a much larger strategy by the Left to discredit, suppress or silence conservative journalists?

Well, you guys are kind of late because may be you haven't noticed but the GOP has already been eviscerated and crippled. I don't really mean it to be taken literally but they are licking their wounds. Instapundit.com from where I read this post makes a good sugestion;
TEA PARTY FOLKS SHOULD READ THIS AND FIGURE OUT HOW TO DO THE SAME THING, IN REVERSE:

If the lefty’s want to up the ante and extend oppo beyond campaigns to the governing process I say let’s go it on. Their ridiculous sloppy lives, finances, drug addled brains and STD’s will come back to cripple them.

End tax exemptions for any organization. If we all suffered equally we’d not be in the mess we have today.

How many black pastors would tolerate the tax situation if they couldn’t acrue their funding tax free? Many black pastors in Chicago are RE millionaires.

The invention of the 501 c3 was a leftist circumvention in the first place. Let churches, colleges and “non-profits” all suffer along with the rest of us.

The term “non-profit” is a myth as well.

The difference is that tea partyers can't because we are all working ourselves to death whereas for these people it IS their job. They are getting paid to do this.

That's why I want to see more states forge ahead with right to work laws. Nothing is more effective at shutting down democrat fundraising efforts. (Something like $250 million in Michigan alone)

That’s the difference between the Tea Partiers (Taxed Enough Already) and the ‘Progressives’. We understand earned success and are out there every day building a future for ourselves and family. We want to simply be left alone to pursue happiness. It is difficult to lead folks who don’t require leadership because they are so fiercely independent.
The left consider it a success if more people learn dependence and thus put them in control of their lives. They want power and control. This paradoxically requires use of force. Some people make better slaves than others.

I agree. Freedom of association should be treated as carefully as freedom of religion, and all sorts of clubs and groups and associations get taxed up the wazoo, too.

The answer really is no corporate tax at all, profit or ‘nonprofit’. Let those associations be unencumbered, and then impose equal, low taxes on use of public resources and on personal income for all.

Admit it, the federal income tax is just another failed government program. Rather than tinker around the margins we should rescind the 16th amendment.

And 17th.

Actually I would prefer that my state’s senators were chosen with a proportional vote by district.

Sue for slander and damages every time one of these attacks happens. Tie these demons up in court. Cost them a lot of money.

No organizations should be exempt from paying taxes. That is one problem. The folks who pay taxes pay too much because so many places don’t pay a dime. That is the exact same problem with personal income taxes too. Too many free loaders.
