After a dismal winter, spring is nearly upon us, and everything is coming up roses at JCPenney.
That, at least, is the message some investors expect to hear from CEO Ron Johnson Wednesday despite forecasts that the flailing retailer will report a fourth-quarter loss on what could be the worst sales drop in its history.
When Penney reports its results, Wall Street analysts forecast a loss, with sales down 24 percent to $4.1 billion, but many industry watchers estimate Penneys comparable sales will plunge by upward of 30 percent.

Can’t say I’m sad over this. I’m sure there are a lot of good people who work for JCP. I worked for them in the appliance service center many years ago and used to buy a lot of my clothes and my children’s clothes there. Their promotion of homosexuality totally turned me off and I hope a lot of other businesses that promote homosexuality will face the same fate.
My sarcasm tag disappeared for some reason.
I think I saw 2 male mannequins humping each other in a JC Penny....
Money that used to go to middle class retailers like Penneys, Sears, and WalMart is now going toward buying groceries and filling your gas tank. Democrat policies are killing the middle class.
WalMart is hanging on because of food stamps. A department store like Penneys has to survive without government assistance. I expect that soon Penneys will announce a round of store closures.
We’re heading toward late 1800’s France and early 1900’s Russia.
Your bad:)
Gay C. Pansy can bite the dust. We still have the fond memories of the great family retailer it once was.
I’ll dance on it’s grave.
Yep, last year’s lesbian mother’s day and homosexual father’s day ads did it for me. The only time I have been inside our local Penney’s was to use the bathroom. I figured that would cost them money; toilet paper, soap, water.
Good God, you used a JC Penney restroom? See a doctor immediately, full battery of tests....
Obviously he could SERIOUSLY INCREASE SALES, if he would simply announce that coddling to the gay community was a mistake and that JC Penny is again a “family friendly” store.
But that would likely violate his “morals”.
The only things I buy through the Penney catalog are bath rugs and towels. They have a nice color selection.
I stopped shopping at our nearby store because of the employees. Most are Hispanic and either they have an attitude or don’t speak English very well.
I now shop at Kohls for mostly everything.
And ebay was up 35% in the fourth quarter.
Good times... good times.
In 2011, they closed half of the catalog call centers, which were based in the U.S., rather than overseas.

I am completely shocked that Pennies is still open. The whole chain should of gone bankrupt 20 years ago.
The men’s restroom of a North Dallas J.C. Penney store was once a well-known cruising destination for faggots (I learned this because I once worked there and the plain clothes police working for the store told me.) I stopped using their restroom except for absolute emergencies after that.
Think I’ll go to Kohl’s today...and Hobby Lobby, too.
Many people, including many FReepers, refuse to see the connection of this flailing struggle with the retailer’s openly coddling sodomites.
