After a dismal winter, spring is nearly upon us, and everything is coming up roses at JCPenney.
That, at least, is the message some investors expect to hear from CEO Ron Johnson Wednesday — despite forecasts that the flailing retailer will report a fourth-quarter loss on what could be the worst sales drop in its history.
When Penney reports its results, Wall Street analysts forecast a loss, with sales down 24 percent to $4.1 billion, but many industry watchers estimate Penney’s comparable sales will plunge by upward of 30 percent.

Whenever I shop online and the website I’m shopping from bounces me to Amazon? I keep searching. Last week I paid 18% more for some office equipment by buying from an online Mom and Pop so as to avoid spending a dime at Amazon.

We love to go to Khol’s and have during the past 4 years. The variety and quality is outstanding and I always buy my shoes there. Other clothes as well as some are just “must buy” for the style and price. the last time I went to JC Pennys was a bad experience and I left angry. I have never been back in 4 years.

So how did cozening up to the homos work out for ya, JC? Maybe snubbing the values of 98 percent of your customers in favor of 2 percent (who won’t shop at your stores anyway) wasn’t a great business decision ...

I like Penney’s. Just last weekend I got 2 cami’s for $5 each, and a really cute mint colored suit. They carry the ANA clothing line which is my favorite. I’m rather busty and ANA tops are cut a bit bigger along the bust line than just about any other clothing line.
