This piece seems to be a hodgepodge of poor writing and misinformation.
The original thought is an increase in sexual transmitted diseases. Then there is a shift in mid thought to emergency contraceptives. Such drugs prevent pregnancy, not disease.
The author seems confused in thinking an emergency contraception like a condom, prevents disease.

"Now hold on guys, I only slept with half that many.
You can't blame me."
It's a shame there isn't some easy, reliable method of preventing the spread of sexually transmitted diseases. If we just knew how these diseases were transmitted, we could avoid those situations and solve the problem. Maybe researchers will find the answers - some day, if we stop the sequester and give them more funding.

This is what I call the "Russian roulette effect." Presumably decrease the risk of a high-risk activity, like adding more chambers to the cylinder of a revolver, and many more people engage in it and more often at the presumably lower risk, resulting in more casualties. Liberals never seem to understand the dynamic effect of playing with the odds in enacting societal change policies, often with the declared intend to ameliorate a malady, only to find that they've exacerbated the problem. The popularity and mandated availability if contraception is one such destructive policy.

I gather then that pregnancy is an infection which results in disease.
What a beautiful world the unbeliever hath wrought.

you have to wonder why Bambi has never made a speech regarding the wide-spread “Health-Related” crisis. Yet he wont stop talking about how Republicans hate those on wheelchairs, toss em of the cliff, etc. And if he did, anyone wanna guess who would get the blame for the last 20 Million STD Infections?
