We have been told by Biden how many shells we need - two for a shotgun and shoot it outside the house and the zombies will run away.
According to Biden, I'm doing it all wrong: I have 36 cartridges loaded and ready to shoot. Darn, I wish I had listened to Biden. :o) Biden is dumb as a stump.
That is when a laser designator sight is invaluable...
It's puzzling that there is no mention of the "young boy" who started the entire inident.

Biden, our Official National Clown, asserts that if you need more than one shot to protect yourself, you deserve to die... By extrapolation, three shots max to deal with three criminals, his 8 shot magazine is all you'd ever need.
Can't fix stupid.
Detroit leads the nation in justified homicide ie self defense.
However the justifiable homicides are mixed in with the murder numbers to "puff up" the numbers for gun grabber groups.

The problem with any shotgun is when you go around a corner or go thru a doorway the shotgun will protrude and allow a perp to grab it.

Sure, white guys do regular burglary home invasions, but white guys with glasses just do them for drugs.

I think a DB shotgun would have handled the situation just fine. You just better not miss with your first round when you’ve got three opponents.
Plug the first one and threaten the other two. Although they are generally tearing out the door at that point.
I think an auto or pump shotgun would be a better idea.
I’m not clear why everybody’s all over Biden for his remarks. Lots of gun types think shotguns are the right first choice for home defense, though admittedly few would recommend a double-barrel.
I’m a first time gun buyer...looking for home piece. I am looking at a 9mm conceal or the Judge. Still up in the air right now. I like what I see with the Judge.
IMO, you can't beat the Judge for home defense, or other close range situations. Check THIS out on YouTube.
The cups have the impact of a three 32 Auto rounds, BUT, he now has a LOT of holes in him and is leaking pretty bad. And, the shot won't penetrate walls and take out the neighbor.
Because Biden starts out being a fool and then gets rapidly worse. Generally Biden's advice was to fire two waring shots and the problem would go away. That would leave you with an empty gun and a perp completly unharmed and totaly dangerous if he still had the intent.
In this case, in a home with perps intespersed with loved one,a weapon with more traget disgression than a shotgun is more appropriate.
People are all over Joe about this because his statement was stupid. That this idiot is a heartbeat away from the presidency is truly scary.
Most of your points are fine, but this is just silly. Most gunfights within a home would take place at no more than 25' or so, usually less. At such ranges shot, even with a cylinder choke, just doesn't disperse much. With most loads I suspect you would get a pattern only 4" to 8" across at most, which doesn't really pose much of a threat to your family.
I'm perfectly willing to agree there are lots of times a rifle such as the AR-15 is better for defense than a shotgun, but inside a home or at other really short ranges I don't think there is any real advantage.
I agree the specifics were dumb, but some comments seem to take him to task for saying a shotgun is a better choice for home defense than an AR-15, which is I believe a perfectly defensible position.
