Worried transit officials asked lawmakers to imagine a CTA train packed with inebriated, possibly irate fans after a Cubs night game, then consider the wisdom of adding gun-toting passengers to the potentially volatile mix.
Or what if a thief grabbed a bus rider's iPhone a not-uncommon crime and an armed commuter tried to stop the criminal?
Those scenarios were raised Friday by Chicago transit officials, who called on state legislators to prohibit anyone from carrying a weapon on buses and trains if a concealed-carry law is adopted in Illinois.
Transit agencies across the state contend that allowing individuals to carry firearms on buses and trains would be dangerous, even catastrophic, because "interpersonal conflicts are commonplace" among passengers, testified Jeanne Wrenn, a Pace official.
The issue boiled up at a House Judiciary Committee hearing in Chicago the same day that a divided federal appeals court rejected Illinois Attorney General Lisa Madigan's request for a rehearing on the case in which the state has been ordered to allow citizens to carry guns in public. . .

you sure about that?
Some, my friend, some. Let's not paint with an overly broad brush here.
One wonders why that isn’t obvious enough that the question would go unasked.
Or what if a thief grabbed a bus rider’s iPhone a not-uncommon crime and an armed commuter tried to stop the criminal?
and did even a single person say anything about ways to stop the thief? No? Just ways to stop the victim from defending themselves?
People in Illinois are to stupid to make decisions for them selves about how, where and when to defend themselves so the Liberal idiots have to regulate so it null in voids the CCL.
I believe it is hilarious when you can get the gun-control minions to “What if”...
I guess they are worried that the voting pool will be cleansed/purged if a number of their malcontents are expunged because of their criminal activity...
What a shame that might be “if” it ever happens...
These kind of articles always make me wonder where these scenarios are playing out - exactly where are drunks being shot on trains, etc.? Lots of cities in concealed carry states (like Texas and Florida) have trains and buses and no doubt lots of armed civilians - so where is the bloodbath.
Or perhaps they’re really scared of something else. That a gun will really be used in self-defense against a band of “locals” that make a career out of robbing IDIOTS from the suburbs that think it’s safe to go to the city for culture and crap like that. For now the city elders can just deny it ever happens, as the media won’t report it, since it “stigmatizes” protected classes of society - but when those IDIOTS start shooting back (and I only call them idiots because they go there in the first place), it will have to be reported - and that will pretty much be the end of “downtown” for millions of people, and billions of dollars.
But...but, these cities and states have lower crime rates. No liberal is ever going to see the connection between concealed carry and lower crimes rates.
You have to think like a liberal.
Tends to give me headaches, I try not to do this often :)

I realize it is ‘hard’ BUT it is about the only way to maintain any semblance of sanity.
The thing that bothers me most is when I ‘adapt’ that ‘think’ theory it does make some sense and THAT is scary.
It is like reading some of the satire and in your mind you know it isn’t true BUT you also realize it very well could be.
It is like reading John Semmens posts- you just have to say WTF
Sanity and liberal speak in same sentence - never I thought I would see that LOL
Oh the horrors. What if the citizens shot the criminal and threw him off the train. Why, that might make other criminals hesitate to rob people on trains.
It’s almost like the thieves in government want to protect their fellow criminals

It is an ‘easy’ mix/fix....
All you must do (to think like a lib) is take a subject, read it, disect the part you like and trash the rest of it.
Also, take a statement/book/editorial, arrive at a logical conclusion, get the references, study it thoroughly— THEN and only THEN— completely reverse YOUR way of thinking/reasoning and you arrive at ‘lib speak’.
“But...but, these cities and states have lower crime rates. No liberal is ever going to see the connection between concealed carry and lower crimes rates.”
Oh they do. They know more about gun control and its implications than the NRA could ever dream of knowing. The problem is that they have a CLEAR AGENDA to seize power and basically jail (or worse) everyone that disagrees with them.
They know the history. They know that in EVERY COUNTRY where they seize power, the economy tanks and people revolt. So they let crime get a bit out of control, and then they take the guns. Once that is accomplished they effectively outlaw political opposition.
Don’t EVER underestimate the intelligence of liberal leaders - they are not misguided - they are PURE EVIL. That simple.
It is a continuing battle with the “elite” of this nation. Their attitude continues to be that they need to be protected because they are important. The rest of the people are not important, therefore their safety is of no consequence. It’s that simple!
They also know that if the causal connection between disarmed citizenry and crime were to penetrate too many people's Liberal Mind Fog, their efforts to disarm the public would be seen for what they really are. Their fear is not that concealed carry will cause a blood bath, but that it won't.

I think that responsible gun owners (and CCW owners) are sensible enough to know when it’s appropriate to use deadly force.
Do you disagree?
