Law enforcement sources say Adam Lanza was motivated by violent video games and a strong desire to kill more people than another infamous mass murderer.
Sources say Lanza saw himself as being in direct competition with Anders Breivik, a Norwegian man who killed 77 people in July 2011.
Breivik killed eight with a bombing in downtown Oslo. He then moved to a nearby island where hunted down and fatally shot 69 people, mostly teenagers attending a summer camp.
Two officials who have been briefed on the Newtown, Conn., investigation say Lanza wanted to top Breivik's death toll and targeted nearby Sandy Hook Elementary School because it was the "easiest target" with the "largest cluster of people."
Evidence shows that his mind, sources say, Lanza was also likely acting out the fantasies of a video game as he killed 20 first graders and six adults at the school. For Lanza, the deaths apparently amounted to some kind of "score."

The only way to do that would be for fines and “common sense” regulations on the 1st Amendment.

All of the strick new laws regarding medical privacy such as HIPAA make it incredibly difficult to release medical information, even about the deceased, such as their prescription drugs.
That is NOT true.If the Police are conducting an Investigation all they need to do is get a Judge to sign a Search Warrant and they will have more than enough information.
What angers me about this incident is how the State of Connecticut is in a cover-up mode.
This kid is dead,there will be NO trial and yet they still have provided No solid information to the public on what medications he was on,Etc.
The State has No excuse.They should release the documents.The Public has the Right to Know.Especially when the Governor is trying to destroy our Second Amendment Rights.

I live 15 minutes from Newtown and know some of these people. I knew some of the children. It was not a hoax and these are not secret servants of the Democrats. Some of them are moderate and conservative.
You have absolutely no right to tell someone how they should be grieving in public.

you want to end the *conspiracy theories* ??? then demand the damn evidence to be released to the public...it was a public incident, in a public school, and the evidence is being hidden from the public by layers of friggin public SERVANTS...
since youre so close to the action, maybe you could describe the number of rounds fired, the weapons used, the positions of spent casing relative to impacts in walls and floors...or how about on the scene video evidence or 911 calls, or eyewitnesses that can enlighten us as to the exact chain of events...

There is nothing new about the left trying to take guns away or the media being useless. However, they are probably going to win this time because they are no longer dealing with sane and intelligent enemies. I used to think that conservatives had higher IQs than liberals. After listening to the sandy hook conspiracy garbage and witnessing the unbelievable harassment, I no longer believe that this is universally true. America is finished and the future is oppression and death. Communism will get exactly what it wants. Thanks again for giving them what they wanted!

In response to this piece, Lt. J. Paul Vance of the Connecticut State Police told CBS News that the investigation into the motive for the Newtown shooting has not been completed and therefore any statements about the shooter’s intent are mere speculation.
To my knowledge, Vance [a well-known manipulator of the press] hasn’t said a word about the massacre since 12/16 or so. All is shut down. Nary a word. I don’t trust Vance, as far as I can throw him. Dr. Henry Lee was the only person we have had in the ME office who is professional. During the time Lee was was here in CT, he was credible. All of this is speculation on the part of ABC, et al.
The press desperately wants to keep this Newtown story on the front burner.

ok after looking at your past comments, I no longer believe that you are a liberal troll or genuine sociopath. I’m new to FR and didn’t realize that it was possible to look up past threads. However, you definitely have some severe mental issues resulting in unusual levels of paranoia. There is nothing wrong with believing in the dangers of a powerful government (I do too) but you are gradually crossing into a psychotic state of delusion. Given time you may lose touch with all of reality and become a danger to yourself and/or innocent third parties.
So for the time being I’ll give you the benefit of the doubt about your character...but you definitely need to seek help for your issues.
Are you convinced that the kids are still alive and that the parents and most residents of Newtown are Obama’s secret agents? If the answer to this question is yes then you may require a prescription for Risperdal or Zyprexa with Lithium supplement to give you some help with sensory perception and mental clarity.

A major problem in Connecticut, is that the dems are so fiscally irresponsible....we are billions in debt, industry is moving out b/c of the high taxes, the gov release 2K convicted felons to save money on the prisons, so only the few souls remaining and stuck with the endless pandering to the political left and huge debt; besides the usual liberal salivating to eliminating guns.
Lt Vance [head state cop], is as far philosophically from a Joe Arpaio as one could imagine. He loves the police state he created.
Our pols have no historical sense that the gun industry helped build CT [Colt, Winchester, Ruger, Marlin, etc.] And our gun laws are among the most strict in the states.

Given your proximity, what is the general consensus on gun control in the area? Do the residents of Newtown hold the father accountable for the crimes committed by his troubled son?
The area is not really that liberal on gun control. I’d estimate that half the town are strong believers in the second amendment. Many parents of surviving children at Sandy Hook have voiced their opinion on the subject at the town hall so this is a fair estimate.
I don’t really know what people think about the Lanza family. I’ve been very busy.
