CAN YOU GET THE SUPERVISORS IN YOUR COUNTRY TO SUPPORT THE SECOND AMENDMENT?

There is a groundswell of support for the Second Amendment across America, yet the media has given it almost no coverage. In California the Board of Supervisors in El Dorado county and in Siskiyou county passed resolutions in defense of the Second Amendment. Even the local papers in Siskyou and El Dorado counties refused to carry the story when their own Boards of Supervisors passed these resolutions. The media is spiking the story. Perhaps they hope they can stop the groundswell of support for the Second Amendment by censorship.

There is a groundswell of support for the Second Amendment across America, yet the media has given it almost no coverage.

Every Sheriff in every county in Florida has signed a pledge to defend Second Amendment rights. That is huge news, but you probably have not heard about it.

A well-armed and peaceful crowd of 160 showed up at the City Council meeting in Oak Harbor, Washington to speak their minds in defense of gun rights. The City Council promptly overturned their ban on arms in parks and the marina. That was on Feb. 06, and you may not have heard about that either.

In California, that bastion of Democrat control, some counties are also rebelling.

El Dorado county is adjacent to Nevada and Reno. When gun shows were curtailed by anti-gun forces in California, people in the San Francisco Bay area resorted to attending and purchasing at gun shows in Reno. They would then drive the guns back into California, entering through El Dorado county.

Thus it may make it difficult for the California State government to block the entry of guns at the border if the border county has decided to defend the Second Amendment. El Dorado County's Board of Supervisors has done just that: Last month (i/29), it passed a resolution in defense of the Second Amendment.

Here is the resolution from the El Dorado Board of Supervisors:

RESOLUTION NO. 006-2013; OF THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF THE COUNTY OF ELDORADO IN SUPPORT OF THE SECOND AMENDMENT & AND THE RIGHT OF THE PEOPLE TO KEEP AND BEAR ARMS

WHEREAS, the Second Amendment to the United States Constitution, as part of United States Bill of Rights, ratified on December 15, 1791, protects the right of the people to keep and bear Arms; and,

WHEREAS, two landmark decisions issued by the United States Supreme Court established that the Second Amendment protects an individual's right to possess a firearm unconnected with service in a militia, and to use that Arm for traditionally lawful purposes, such as, but not limited to, self-defense within the home, and that the right could not be infringed by the federal government (District of Columbia v. Heller); and that under the Fourteenth Amendment the right to keep and bear Arms was incorporated and would also prohibit state and local governments from infringement of the right (McDonald v. City of Chicago); and,

WHEREAS, sadly, recent high profile events within our country have sparked discussions of gun-control at the local, state and federal levels and include numerous gun-control proposals that assert to address gun violence while, in fact, many of these proposals would directly infringe upon the Second Amendment rights; and,

WHEREAS, the County of EI Dorado's economy and rural quality are supported by ranching, farming and natural resources, and that the right to keep and bear Arms is fundamental to our right to protect our families, our property, our livestock, and our livelihood, and that the residents of this County respect the rights afforded by the Second Amendment through the recognition and support of responsible firearm ownership, training and awareness; and,

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of Supervisors of the County of El Dorado supports all discussions seeking new ideas to protect our citizens from violence but cannot abide by any provision infringing upon the Second Amendment.

PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Board of Supervisors of the County of El Dorado at a regular meeting of said Board, held the 29th day of January, 2013, by the following vote of said Board:

I CERTIFY THAT: Ayes: Veerkamp, Mikalaco, Nutting, Briggs There is another California border county that has taken a stand for the Second Amendment as well. The main route from Oregon enters California through Siskiyou County. Here is the similar resolution from the Siskiyou County Board of Supervisors:

Have you heard about any of this? Even the local papers in Siskyou and El Dorado counties refused to carry the story when their own Boards of Supervisors passed these resolutions. The media is spiking the story. Perhaps they hope they can stop the groundswell of support for the Second Amendment by censorship.

Two days ago (2/23) there were 123 official listed Day of Resistance Rallies being held for the Second Amendment all over America, and probably numerous additional unofficial ones. Here is a series of clips and stories about them.

This should be a springboard for pressure on Boards of Supervisors all over the country to consider similar resolution. I'd like to suggest you bring it to the attention of the BoS in your county.

Perhaps your friends have not heard about the widespread revolt to preserve our Second Amendment rights. Remember, all our rights are threatened without the preservation of the Second Amendment. Without you, this revolution may be buried by the media. Pass the word now so we never have to pass the ammunition later.

You meant “county” not “country” right? Also, remember, Louisiana is divided into parishes and Alaska into boroughs.

I don't need the media stamp of approval on the second Amendment.

Nor do I care if they give it.

No way! Totally illegal. I have attended many gun shows in Reno over the years and there is no way that a California resident can buy a gun in Nevada (with the exception of pre-1898 antiques or muzzle loading replicas), walk out the door and drive home with it.

A few years ago, a California resident could purchase a gun in Nevada and have it shipped to a California FFL holder (gun dealer) and then go through a background check and pick it up in 10 days, but I don't know if that is still the case.

We, the silent Majority, know the truth! We share with the other Patriots in this country. The liberal media’s over sight and arrogance. We are not low information voters. Their not fooling the silent majority. Their only comforting the sheeples and their delusions. There will come a day of reckoning for the media also.

The original title says "country" Vet. It's not the poster's fault.

Wow, I’m surprised at El Dorado county. I left there in the 80’s when the Bay Area liberals began their take over. I thought it would be completely controlled by mindless environmentalists by now.

Santa Cruz? You're kidding, right? OTOH, such a suggestion might put a few of them on disability for PTSD for a week or two...

They have an agenda and an imperative from the WH...of course they ignore the support. It doesn’t fit their narrative.
