WaPo/Pew sequestration poll question oddly missing an option

Say, where is the option for Senate Democrats? It might be a secret to the Washington Post that Democrats control one chamber of Congress, but if they dug around a little bit, they might discover that Harry Reid runs the Senate. Of course, that hasn’t meant much in the last four years of budgeting, as Reid and his caucus have ignored the law that requires the Senate to actually produce a budget, but still, they’re at least nominally an independent player in this battle.

By the way, if the Senate had followed the law and produced normal-order budgets, we wouldn’t have the sequestration at all. The budget resolutions of both chambers would have gone to conference committee, which would have hashed out the differences. Obama would have signed the budgets, and we would have avoided nearly four years of crisis funding for the federal government.

After four years....I’d say it’s time to rewrite the Constitution and lay out four essential jobs for the senate (confirm cabinet officers, confirm treaties with other nations, confirm supreme court judges, and attend funerals of heads of state). Dump everything else, and their bloated staffs. There’s virtually no reason to have the Senate around today. I think Harry has proven that. If you can’t write one single budget in four years....you obviously can’t do it, period.

My prediction? In the 2016 election....there will be fifty-one Republicans elected into the Senate, and a Republican President will arrive. And for the first time in eight years....a budget will be crafted. Everyone in the news media will be shocked that it’s possible to write a budget.

My challenge: Find eight 12th-grade high school kids. Bring them to Washington...give them four weeks of training on how to write a budget, and then announce a contest....who can write a Senate budget fastest....old white men/women, or high school kids. The kids will be done in six weeks, and it’ll shock the media that ordinary people could write a national budget.

I, like hundreds of others have been bitching about not having a budget for several years. Suddenly we now have a budget crunch and need to do automatic cuts? Odumbo and his minion demodummies spend like there is endless money just out there to be grabbed and spent and the Rhino’s let them.

The represtatives in Washington, the media and the people that believe them are all fools.

We seem to be a country of fools these days. I really thought Romney would win but feared voter fraud. I think there was massive voter fraud in November but I also believe that there are lemmings who want to stay latched onto the Government teat forever. And that is what the Bamster promised. I hoped the American voters weren’t stupid enough to give him four more years to completely destroy this country. Fools, all of them.

IMO the best thing to do is send all but one of the Democrats in the Congress home and fire all of their staffs.

They all vote the same way every time anyway, what sense is there to keep them all living like kings.

They are merely puppets with Obama pulling the strings.
They could call in on the phone and get their payoffs for their states and never show up . They don’t do anything anyway but wake in the morning , read the talking points the leader has for them and vote yea or nay as they are told.

Since the Constitution requires that ALL spending bills originate in the House of Representatives, the Senate doesn’t have to do anything until after the House of Representatives has produced a budget.

I like that. I would also take high school kids and as part of their civics education teach them about the election systen and voting. Their field project would be to manage the polls on election day. And to prevent fraud, they are taken out of their district.
