I saw a story yesterday about an airshow in the Spring being canceled because of the sequestration. Guess the blame Bush crowd now has a new bogeyman.

I wholeheartedly agree with Karl on this one.

What these department heads are currently doing is coercive arm-twisting. Extortion to put a fine point on it. And they should be impeached. Start with ICE/HHS release of illegals. Then Transportation. we’ll see if they grow a set and take the helm here.

Obama is really jumping the shark. If the sequester happens and the bad things he predicts don’t happen he is seen a fool. If the bad things do happen he is seen as incompetent for not preventing the foreseen consequences.

His releasing of illegal aliens proves the point that a Democrat regime can’t be trusted to administer normalization of 11 million illegals.

How many of the fools who voted for this ass weasel will finally realize he's a worthless liar? I don't think too many of them can see past their obsession with homosexuality, free condoms, o’bobo phones and welfare payments.

those people are goners, they might as wel be an alien species.

and to think THEY are the votes Romney chased during his campaign

the WalMart shoppers, liberalazzis and welfare classes will only blame Republicans for refusing to “raise taxes on the rich” and “work with” obama

School districts should actually look into this.

No they shouldn't. Salaries would not be saved. Utilites wouldn't be saved because the light and heat would still be on the same number of hours. It might save on lunches but then some bozo would demand a free afternoon snack so we're back up to the normal food costs. It would save on bus maintainance and gas but that wouldn't offset our tax dollars enough. Then you'd have parents crying about having to hire babysitters for that extra day so no way would we ever go to 4 days in the public schools.

If they really wanted to save tax dollars, they'd make year round school with semesters starting and ending alternately so one group of students attends winter/spring/summer, another spring/summer/fall and the third group summer/fall/winter. That way cities could handle 33% more students so there's no need to build more campuses thus saving the taxpayers.

The year-round idea you propose has some merit. I still think the transporation and utilities costs would be lower with 4 days of school rather than 5.

There is no reason thermostat setting throughout a building should be the same when people are not present in those portions of the building.

And, of course, all maintenance, driver, and cafeteria help should be hourly (or hourly based) and not salaried.

It's another manufactured crisis which could have been resolved months ago if Obama had wanted to.

He's counting on the media to play the story in such a way that the Republicans look bad, he gets his tax increase, or both.

When Clinton shut down the government, the media did a very effective job of making it appear to be the Republican Party's fault.

Actually, I don’t think 0bama ever intended on negotiating out of the sequester.

Obama doesn't negotiate. He simply turns up the rhetoric and then waits for the opposition to fold. The only way to stop him is to refuse to fold. Unfortunately, 'the opposition' at this point consists of John Boehner and Mitch McConnell. And so far, their track record on folding sits at 100%.
