Politics: Here's a pretty good sign that President Obama is losing the sequester fight: Even his best friends in the press are starting to chafe at the desperate and deceptive warnings coming from him and his administration.
At one of his countless anti-sequester events, Obama warned that the budget cuts will "gut critical investments," "weaken America's economic recovery" and "weaken our military readiness." He said tens of thousands of parents will scramble to find child care, and hundreds of thousands will "lose access to primary care and preventive care." [snip]
Even the media appear incredibly to be growing skeptical of the administration's horrifying predictions.
Case in point is CNN's Candy Crowley.

In a word,
Sequester-geddon ping!
Obama was convinced by the election and the tax cut deal that he cannot lose any of these fights, and now that he is re-elected the MSM may be getting bored with propping him-up as the black liberal flawless messiah. Maybe he will be surprised this time.
The lsm media is just a little tiffed that their access to obama has been limited lately. this was just a little reminder that they are in bed together and he shouldn’t stray too far. They made him what he is today and can break him just as easily. They’ll be behind him again soon.
In two HELL NO!
Our ever campaigning, and “present voting” president, has , after four years of failure not been able to get the training wheels off his miserable record of NON LEADING. When will he begin to lead, instead of instigate as a community organizer. When will he “grow up”?.... I doubt that it will ever happen.
So far, Woodward is the only one I’ve heard challenging anything.
“Obama was convinced by the election and the tax cut deal that he cannot lose any of these fights”
That’s why he’s the Prefident*
*From online dictionary;
Pref”i*dent\, a. [Cf. L. praefidens overconfident. See Pre-, and Confident.] Trusting beforehand; hence, overconfident. [Obs.] —Baxter.
Wait until Barry gives the order to shut down meat inspection, the TSA, national parks and interstate highways. They’ll be back on board faster than you can say “Progressive Orgasm”.
Not a chance. He is a democrat.
He got massive Ocare passed in 2010 with the Dem congress, no small feat.
But why should he try to work with the GOP now ??/
Demonizing them has worked great up to now (at least).
Hell, many clueless Republicans even thought the GOP was beating O last year.
When he loses a few he will change, not until.
As long as there are Obama bedfellows like Ezra Klein, Andrea Mitchell, Robin Roberts, Joe Scarborough, Soledad o’Brian, the NYTimes, NBC, etc., then Obama will be able to do whatever he wants without political consequence.
Equally unfortunate is the fact that Republicans have absolutely NO leadership whatsoever.
The media has lost a lot of credibility protecting obama. All of this so-called “friction” over access and threats from the WH is all for show.
87.3% of the governments figures are made up on the spot. /sarc
Obama is strutting around like a Pea-cock telling audiences that unless the GOP raises taxes all these bad things will happen, that they have to compromise and cave to his demands to raise taxes or ordinary Americans will suffer.
I got two Democrats here (neither white) who told me they are sure that Obama will beat Republicans again on this just like the tax extension fight.
One of the two who is really ga-ga about O repeats the MSNBC daily points by word and he predicted that the GOP will cave by Sunday. He also said this will create a civil war in the GOP, all stuff that MSNBC is saying word for word almost(that is why I watch it)
Of course by Monday he will change his story I bet :”Oh the Republicans will pay at the polls for defying our President. Everyone agrees with him.”
The left wing media will never stop being the Ministry of Propaganda for ghetto thug Barry Hussein Soetoro. They may have a brief spat, but soon they will go back to licking his boots.
As long as Obama performs his main job of giving people government money to watch TV the media will always love him.
40,000 teachers? No way. Only the ghetto trash believes that.
I think the MSM doesn’t like being bullied...
I’m wondering how many were true allies and how many were allies because of their cowardice. Now that Woodward is speaking out. I’m hoping all the threats come out of the woodwork.
Second terms seem to bring bad luck to POTUS’s, certainly with Clinton and GWB.
We can pray that at least some of Os luck will run out, and that the GOP gets smarter and stop shooting themselves in the heads.
All King Barry needs to do is to invite them all to his next gala party in at the Sepia House.
And if that doesn’t work, he can have them beheaded.
Apparently it already has-Lanny Davis was in an article saying it happened to him once! He said this the other day. He said that you just don’t cross Woodward like that! He said he’d (Woodward)been around too long! He said that people could have differences with Woodward on interpretation of his facts, and that was fine, but Woodward was very factual! Davis said he’d been threatened by this White House before, too, and at that time, told them it better NOT happen again! He got a message back assuring him it wouldn’t. He says he thinks they’re back at it again!
Their turning on him now would be more like a second-term abortion.
I can remember when the press was relatively in bed with Nixon. Never to the extent as with Obama, though. Watergate came, and that quickly changed.
I have a feeling things are going to deteriate.
Nixon came to national attention in the 1940s when he ran against Helen Gahagen. He claimed she was so far Left she had pink underwear. The press hated him after that.
Nixon made no friends in the press when Joe McCarthy was hunting for communists in the 1950s.
The press lambasted Nixon for a "slush fund" while he was Eisenhower's VP.
The press lambasted Nixon for his debate performance against JFK in 1960.
The hippies who marched against the Vietnam War were not Nixon supporters, and the press who covered those hippies were not Nixon supporters.
When exactly was the press in bed with Nixon? Watergate is when the press finally "got him" -- they had been trying for close to 30 years.
Check my tagline.
A GOP house that just passed a Senate VAWA that protects lesbo’s and illegals wont be impeaching anyone.
No, the press was never in bed with Nixon like they are in bed with Obama. I don’t believe I implied that.
However, the press feared Nixon just like the press fears Obama. Nixon had J. Edgar Hoover, the FCC, the IRS at his beck and call, and he did use them. When it became clear he was under siege, the tone of the media changed. Talk show guests were openly and blatantly critical, no longer fearing retribution.
Woodward has the creds to go against the flow. A lesser independent journalist would simply never work again on the national level.
I was in my 20s in the Nixon era, but I was paying attention.
But if you recall it differently, that's your business.
You and I are in agreement and are talking about two different things.
I agree that the press never liked Nixon and they like Obama. Don’t we agree on that?
What I am saying is that once it looked like Nixon was powerless and probably going down, the media lost their fear of what he could do to them and began “piling on” in a frenzy that was blatantly anti-Nixon in a way they never were before. I noticed this from watching Dick Cavette like tv talk shows.
What is it that we disagree on?
And let us not forget the media darling Alger Hiss, whom Nixon, as a committee member of the House Un-American Activities Committee, went after while the HUAC was under fire from the press and President Truman.
The press really got their long knives out for Nixon after taking down a man who helped start the United Nations, while being a Communist spy.
