Dangerous TB Patient Nabbed On U.S. Border
Wall Street Journal ^ | March 1, 2013 | BETSY MCKAY

In medical isolation in South Texas, 100 miles or so from Mexico's border, is a man who embodies one of U.S. health officials' greatest worries: He is the first person to cross and be held in detention while infected with one of the most severe types of drug-resistant tuberculosis known today.

His three-month odyssey through 13 countries—from his homeland of Nepal through South Asia, Brazil, Mexico, and finally into Texas—shows the way in which dangerous new strains of the disease can migrate across the world unchecked.

He just wanted to participate in Obama's Dream Act. Kind of a nightmare for we US citizens.

US health official concerns? FALSE

The person who made this trek in search of opportunity, is more American than the millions of coddled "Americans", who are as ideologically dishonest as the media that leads them.

Sadly no one told him the American dream is gone. Prayers friend.

Why would anyone object to this? It is the President of the United States' vision to turn this country into more of a 3rd-world country than it already is.

This guy needs a limousine ride the rest of the way to Washington, D.C. for a tour of the Congress and the White House.

Wonder if any of the 2,000 illegals Obama released from ICE custody this week shared a cell with this fellow.

Back in the good old days when this country had a lick of common sense, sick people were not admitted at Ellis Island.

The list of immunizations keeps growing to ridiculous lengths for our children as they have to be immunized against dozens of third world diseases now before they enter pre-kindergarten.

Now he’ll probably sue us for a trillion pesos for revealing his health condition without his permission.

I would guess he took a rowboat, not a jet. I would guess giving the ol’ college try cancels worries of a new Andromeda Strain. I would also guess we can now invite the population of Nepal, Tibet, Kenya, and, oh, well, China a bon voyage’ to the open doors of our local emergency rooms.

...and they sent my great-granny back to Hungary for a simple lung infection.

So..... the guy was just trying to get through his ‘bucket list’ ?

Who paid for this ‘odyssey’?

XDR-TB has a greater than 50% mortality rate, with treatment.

And I would guess if they catch it early.

Looking into my crystal ball, I think his future involves being buried in a deep pit, along with a whole bunch of quicklime.

Like “doing the jobs that Americans won’t”

The are just spreading the diseases that Americans can’t yet spread.

Here in Texas, we’ve had several measles outbreaks tied to people bringing infected children here or unvaccinated children going to Mexico to visit family and bringing the disease back.

60,000 Border and Customs Agents Told to Take Furloughs
Thursday, March 7, 2013 08:04 PM

By: Todd Beamon

Sixty-thousand federal employees responsible for securing the nation’s borders and facilitating trade will be furloughed for as many as 14 days starting next month because of $85 billion in cross-government spending cuts.

The federal government notified the workers on Thursday, CNN reports.

U.S. Customs and Border Protection officials said the furloughs and other austerity measures would cause delays at ports of entry, including international arrivals at airports, and would reduce the number of border patrol officers on duty at any one time, CNN reports.
