I agree. That particular scene created an air of impending doom for mankind. It was a good scene.

Yes...I only wish they had done a better job with the aliens.

That said...I am not a fan of Will Smith. I liked him in the “MIB” movies, but his act is the same one all the time. I am not surprised at his support of Obama, given that 90%+ of blacks support him, so the odds were there, but it is disappointing nonetheless.

And I just heard Clint Eastwood is on the homosexual marriage bandwagon. Discourages and depresses me. But there you have it.

It seems the only movies I can watch now are old ones.

The Happening was not OK.

It was so far from OK that OK is not even in the same dimension as The Happening.

*Gives you the evil eye*

That being said, I did enjoy Devil quite a bit.

I didn’t realize Will Smith is gay, but it doesn’t surprise me.

If it hadn't been revealed that Will Smith was a "bundler", I'd have continued to love his MIB movies as well as "I Am Legend".........

With that being said, I'll ignore his politics and focus on my own personal enjoyment in movies......

I'm not so anal retentive as to allow politics to govern my personal lifestyle.......

Some people need to get a life.......

“The Happening was not OK.’

C’mon. At least it was an interesting premise. Not like some movies (the Hulk specifically). That thing made me want to lay in front of a lawnmower.

Devil was a good movie, and ‘controversially’, I liked Signs. The Village was a pile of crap though. Too unrealistic. Everyone knows the Amish go around running other buggies off the road and beating each other up in grain silos, just like on Amish Mafia.

Well, Eastwood did give us both ‘In the Line of Fire’ (bumbling POTUS) and ‘Absolute Power’ (evil POTUS) during the Clinton years...and don’t forget, ‘Wag The Dog’...

The interesting point on that philosophical conclusion (graham's) is that the human experience delivers affirmation of the influence of a greater good and of evil.

You can't go thru a month of living without having to re-examine a dismissal of faith. You don't need aliens either.

Ahhh...”Wag the Dog” was a good one. But if I remember correctly, didn’t it come out before the Lewinsky scandal and the invasion of Yugoslavia? If I remember correctly it was originally meant to remind us of President Bush the first and his war with Iraq. It was only afterwards that Clinton sort of turned fiction into fact.

Oddly against your argument, history begs to differ. During the middle ages and into the 1700's, grain stocks thruout Europe were infected with mold due to less than ideal storage. The mold strains were very similar to LSD and magic mushrooms used as mind altering drugs. So you had some very paranoid mad people being driven to do things because they were drugged out of their minds.

This is an example of plants inducing mass hysteria on a human populace. Granted however, those plants were not passing on judgement on us as a people.

I already crossed Will Smith off my list long ago, and no longer pay to watch his movies.

"Wag the Dog” was a good one. But if I remember correctly, didn’t it come out before the Lewinsky scandal and the invasion of Yugoslavia?"

The Dayton Accords which put NATO forces into Bosnia as peacekeepers were signed in November '95 with NATO forces entering in December. According to Monica's testimony, that's about the exact time she started swingin' with billy jeff, with their last encounters in early '97. Wag the Dog was released in December '97 at which time there were some vague rumors starting to swirl. Drudge blew (no pun intended) the story wide open in January '98.

Well, I must admit I was interested to start, but when I end up flipping the bird to the tv screen for the entire last 10 minutes of a movie, and I mean every second of those 10 minutes I gave a middle finger salute, I can only take this as a sign of a very bad movie.

Mainly, I’m tired of shockingly stupid leftist propaganda being made into movies in some effort to scare me or motivate me or whatever.

I mean, seriously, I realize that a large, large majority of people in this country are just as dumb as bricks, but I am not a member of said majority, and I cannot abide these pathetic efforts at mass mind control.

Though I will agree that The Hulk, both recent versions, have made me also want to lay in front of a lawn mower.

Movies these days are just so...anyhow, I’m very happy that I grew up when I did. It seems that was a time that is gone forever, and I’m glad I knew it.
