Nathan Bibeau of Lewiston, Maine said he made an unsettling discovery during his son Caydens 2nd birthday celebration. After the toddler blew out the candles, his Elmo-themed cake was cut and four pieces in, he found a paring knife inside the dessert. So the party was paused and Bibeau called the Auburn Walmart bakery where he purchased the cake to inform them

While the father says he understands that mistakes can happen and will still shop at Walmart, he has contacted a lawyer and is considering legal action.

I would be stoked, there is a good chance that it is a high quality, fairly expensive paring knife, (if it wasn’t damaged).
“While the father says he understands that mistakes can happen and will still shop at Walmart, he has contacted a lawyer and is considering legal action.”
Why? No harm no foul...
Boy, someone is still selling a product with a free prize inside. Cool!
I’m always suspect of such “discoveries”.
The first phone call a liberal makes in an emergency?
The nearest Slip and Fall lawyer.
"Gladys, stop that choking. I can't hear the lawyer."
I remember a man in the Ft. Walton Bch. Wal-mart was bitten by a pygmy rattler in their garden dept.
He said he was not going to sue but thought Wal-Mart should pay for his hospital bill.
I think he was being pretty decent about it.
Cool!
Free knife!
Why would anyone buy an Elmo cake? Elmo is allegedly a gay pedophile. The child will be traumatized for life.
As for a paring knife in a cake, I hope they filmed it all. I’ve made a lot of cakes, and I don’t recall ever needing a paring knife for any part of the process.

Better make sure it’s 2.3” or less otherwise and Big Sis will be in your butt :)
There is no way if this happened to me that this story would get out to the media. I would contact the store and that would be that. People are so greedy these days, always looking to make a buck. I am sick to death of these stories.
Obviously a case of mistaken address, that cake
was supposed to go to the state prison farm.
What was a paring knife doing in the bakery? Having worked in one, I can’t ever remember seeing a pairing knife laying around or even using one in the bakery and I’m hard pressed to think of a purpose for a paring knife in the bakery.

Either you have never seen the inside of a Walmart in your lifetime or you are accusing a Walmart worker of bringing a high quality knife into the bakery without the knowledge of Walmart superiors. I would not make the mistake of calling any product found at a Walmart high quality.

Beat me to it...lol
I agree....tired of scumbags running to the lawyer.....greed
Did they get the prison party cake?
Walmart cakes come in baked and frozen. They are defrosted and
iced/decorated at store level. Hard to believe a knife fell in at the cake factory assembly line. Either it was intentionally put in or this story is half-baked.
