Stand With Rand!
American Spectator ^ | Mar. 7, 2013 | Ross Kaminsky

Posted on 03/07/2013 8:42:41 AM PST by EXCH54FE

Senator Paul was, and is, objecting to the Obama administration’s pathetic response to questions regarding federal authority to use drone strikes against American citizens on American soil. In the senator’s view — and it’s hard to reasonably disagree – Attorney General Eric Holder’s March 4, 2013 letter in response to Sen. Paul’s questions about this authority is deeply troubling.

It is a letter which would cause a media uproar and calls for impeachment from congressional Democrats and their newspaper lackeys if the author worked for a Republican administration.

Senator Paul’s filibuster was dramatic and historic. Indeed, while CSPAN2 is normally less interesting than a 3 AM half-hour long infomercial for Facelift in a Flash, not once from the time I started hearing Senator Paul, before 10 AM here in the Rocky Mountains, through at least 10 hours later as I write this note, did I consider changing the channel.

To give you a sense of Paul’s intensity and seriousness, he gave every one of the following remarks within a five-minute span just after 7:35 PM Eastern Time: Can the president have the power to decide when the Bill of Rights applies? Someone in the media should ask the president…“Do you plan on killing Americans who are not in combat…people he might be accusing of some kind of crime but who are not actually engaged in combat?” It should be an easy question. We’ll take a telegram. We’ll even take a tweet…if they let us know that they acknowledge that their power is not unlimited. If you have a war that has no end, if you have a war that has no geographic limit, and then if you have strikes that have no constitutional bounds, basically what you have is an unlimited imperial presidency.

We’re seeing a profile in courage, properly understood, that could prove transformative not just for the GOP.

Rush Limbaugh
Don’t miss my interview with Senator Rand Paul on today’s show, folks. He’ll be joining me at the top of the second hour.

Fill in the blank.

At National Review (who many here rightly highlight the GOPe choir within it), there is an article by Kevin D. Williamson with this exact title ... 'Stand With Rand!'

Even better, there is an online survey with the question ... "Is Rand Paul a hero for his filibuster?" Over 9,000 votes and 'Yes' is 91%!

I’ve never seen a trending topic settle at the top for more than a few hours but #StandWithRand and #filibuster are still at the top of the twitterverse.

It's on their main website page, in the middle, 'page down' twice.

Not so fast. Now let’s see how he votes. Paul — and all Republicans except Inhofe, Cornyn and Cruz — hurt themselves by voting for Kerry’s confirmation.

He’s certainly talked the talk. Now let’s see if he will walk the walk. I’m hoping he does.

In the world of 0bama & his zombies: Drone is good, even on Americans.

While the waterboarding of enemy combatants caught on the field of battle is bad.

The world is mad. Completely utterly insane.

And of course, by voting for Hagel. I’m waiting to see a vote from Rand Paul that is true to his opposition.

Bingo...that was going to be my question, if his vote doesn’t match his rhetoric, it was sound and fury signifying nothing.

While I NEVER watch CSPAN (paint drying more thrilling), when I heard the filibuster was on, I went there and kept it tuned locked and turned up for the entire filibuster. I believe it was an historic moment. #standwithrand. :o)

Rand just rose about 13 miles in my estimation, while Lindsey Graham and the other RINOS sunk to.... well, they couldn’t sink any lower than I already put them.
