Marc Jacobs' 'faux fur' garments actually use the coats of Chinese canines
NYDailynews ^

It's a faux fur fakeout — Marc Jacobs jackets being sold at Century 21 department stores actually contain dog hair.

Even if the labels say otherwise, the “faux fur” garments sold by the retailer are made with the fur of cuddly Chinese raccoon dogs, a breed that’s often skinned alive for its soft coat.

Tests arranged as part of an undercover probe by the Humane Society and state Assembly member Linda Rosenthal (D-Manhattan) identified various items hawked by Century 21 as containing real canine fur, disgusted shoppers found out Thursday.

So is skinning alive. Other than laziness and sadism, what’s the point of that?

Some men hunt for sport,
Others hunt for food,
The only thing I’m hunting for,
Is an outfit that looks good...

See my vest, see my vest,
Made from real gorilla chest,
Feel this sweater, there’s no better,
Than authentic Irish setter.

See this hat, ‘twas my cat,
My evening wear - vampire bat,
These white slippers are albino
African endangered rhino.

Grizzly bear underwear,
Turtles’ necks, I’ve got my share,
Beret of poodle, on my noodle
It shall rest,

Try my red robin suit,
It comes one breast or two,
See my vest, see my vest,
See my vest.

Like my loafers? Former gophers -
It was that or skin my chauffeurs,
But a greyhound fur tuxedo
Would be best,

So let’s prepare these dogs,
Kill two for matching clogs,
See my vest, see my vest,
Oh please, won’t you see my vest

Believe `claims of “skinned alive”.’ and ‘Humane Society’ and I can assure you that the word `gullible’ is NOT in the dictionary!

(Not directed at you, gunner — you show a healthy cynicism but some people actually believe HSUS’ hysterical lies.)

I don’t understand why they can’t kill it and then skin it so it wouldn’t suffer? That is just horrible.

On the one hand, liberals love animals and hate fur. Even more, they hate the abuse of dogs.

OTOH China is America’s enemy so they can’t be criticized by liberals.

It’s hard to be a liberal.

Marc Jacobs. Overpriced trash. Now with comes with Fido hair to jack up the price by $150.

Never liked anything he came out with, too over rated.

I do know that without Oprah and her “favorite things”, Marc Jacobs would not be as popular as he seems to be. Maybe if Jacobs decided he wanted to make his items out of cocker spaniels it would get her attention. Cow.

Where are the Hollywood “activists” to enlighten us on this issue? Darrel Hanna should be squealing about these poor dogs but her fat arse is sitting in a tree somewhere in Berkeley.

Obama eats a tortured dog, he’s a saint.
Romney brings a sick dog home, he’s a cur.

I was commenting on selective outrage.

I have to say I am skeptical because the Humane Society is involved. I have caught them in too many shenanigans over the years. I do not believe them unless I see other evidence and I do not donate one cent to them, I donate to local groups that I know truly help animals.

But why would the Humane Society make false charges against fine communists in China?

There's a song about racooon dogs that was popular in Japan in the 1930's--Shō-jō-ji No Tanuki Bayashi. Eartha Kitt also recorded this tune in 1957.

The translated lyrics are as follows:

At Shō-jō-ji Temple
The garden is bright on the moonlit night.
Let’s come and together,
We are raccoon dog friends,
Keep up with the Priest,
Let’s come and beat on the belly drum together.

At Shō-jō-ji Temple,
The bush clover is in full bloom on the moonlit night.
How merry and playful!
