Democrat Ginny Burdick -- the most impassioned gun-control advocate in the Oregon Senate -- recently dealt with one of those home visits. Some klutz spent several hours filming Burdick outside her home, and Jeff Reynolds, chairman of the Multnomah County Republican Party, gleefully posted the video online.

Burdick, meanwhile, has announced that four gun-control bills -- including background checks on all gun transactions except those between immediate family members -- will be heard Thursday in Senate Judiciary.
"It's clear that intimidation works," Burdick said. "This is the extremist, highly motivated fringe. The strategy is to make life so miserable for people that they don't want to discuss the issue.

It is funny that when a group of law abiding citizens speak out against something the legislature wants, not the people, that it is always a "fringe group". I have news for Ginny Burdick, we are not a fringe group. Those of us against more gun control are not just a few, we are republicans, democrats, independents, libertarians etc. Steve Duin puts quite the spin on what is actually going on. Ginny Burdick should not have cancelled her meeting claiming a scheduling conflict and then just went home for the night. She lied. This is why we cannot trust these legislators. It is wrong for any one to threaten violence, but it is NOT wrong to threaten to campaign against these legislators, that is our RIGHT and duty as citizens.
It is not wrong to have our voices heard. That too is a duty and a right. If the Oregonian and the legislature do not like that, too bad. I really dont care what "they" like. So if these people consider this to be intimidation, doing what we should be doing and well within our rights, then perhaps they need to find something else to do that does not involve the citizens of Oregon having the right to speak out against them. It seems the legislature forgets that they represent us and govern only at OUR pleasure. We are not Ruled by them, they are our employees. The Oregonian is known for its left leaning, and now it seems anti-Constitutional leaning as well.
The activist then posted the video on line, proving Burdick was a liar.
Now the Oregonian claims that somehow, Burdick was the victim of intimidation.
I suppose so. It is intimidating to be held accountable for lying.
Anti gun Oregonians should move back to California.
Makes sense in the lib world. Moonbats have been in charge for quite some time now. Got nothing but fascism and poverty to show for it.
Now give me that gun before you really get pissed at our unconstitutional regime......
Somebody REALLY needs to “intimidate” Burdick and send her a copy of the Bill or Rights. She can always find someone with the ability to read it to her.
Constitutionalists are not “fringe”. Queers and Marxists are the fringe groups in America.
Traitors will have to be satisfied with being intimidated, for now....
I find that there are few things that make people madder than when someone does their job for them and they do it for free.
Talk about the pot calling the kettle black! The socialist can dish it out, but, can't take it when it is handed right back at them!
The liberal socialist push for “gun control” Federal Firearm Registry Data Base is back firing on them and are now lashing out and blaming everyone, but themselves! Of course liberal socialist could not be the problem since they are so [reasonable] it must be the “extremist” on the right who are against gun control!
What an ass-hat!
Oregon ping. And a note to all Oregonians that the Oregon Citizen’s Lobby is always looking for volunteers. I will be in Salem next Thursday & Friday in the OCL War Room to see what we can do to block these bills. I’d love to see some fellow FReepers there.
Huh....I guess Alinsky’s tactics can work both ways.
They don’t like it much when it’s turned around, do they?
American gun owners are showing the way. While leaders of the R party cower, then turn their insults toward American conservatives, gun owning conservatives are actually accomplishing things. They are taking action and slowing down the enemy. R party leaders could learn a lot from gun owners. While the R party is losing support and engaging in self-destruction, American gun owners are showing not only America but the world how free people react to being threatened with oppression.
Word is that the Senate is hearing four gun bills next Thursday.
Yep. We’re trying to round up some people to testify against them.
Apparently the hearings are tentative. Word is, the Dems are trying to schedule the hearings so that the Giffords can testify.
That’s an interesting tidbit! Thanks for letting me know. We were wondering why nothing’s been scheduled.
