Gabby Gifford's husband, Mark Kelly, testifies against AR-15s, and then goes out and buys one
The Truth About Guns ^ | 3/10/14 | Nick Leghorn

Over the last few weeks, we’ve seen Gabby Giffords and her husband Mark Kelly using the emotion that comes from her 2011 shooting in Tuscon, Arizona to demand “something needs to be done” to stop “gun violence,” and that something (according to Mark Kelly) is the ban of “assault weapons.” He has testified to that effect before the U.S. Senate, as well as in Colorado. However, it appears that Mark Kelly is another shining example of the belief of the civilian disarmament folks that the same logic they use to try and disarm the general population doesn’t apply to themselves.

...he now says he intended (the AR15 purchase) as an illustration of the need for more stringent gun laws.

In other words, he's a crazy man who should not be allowed to own a gun but he was able to get one anyway.

Since Kelly has stated that the purpose of “assault weapons” is to “kill a lot of people very quickly.” I would like to ask him how many innocent people was he planning to kill with his AR-15?

Yes, Mr. Kelly, why do you need such a weapon?? Nobody REALLY needs a gun that can use a high-capacity magazine, do they?

If a bunch of guys do a home invasion on you and your wife, can't you just call the police for help? Do you really think it is safe to take the law into your own hands? What if those guys took your weapon and shot you and your wife?

I know your have concerns about this, so I will be glad to purchase that dangerous weapon for $1. I usually charge a $100 disposal fee for doing this, but since it is used, I will give you a deal. Let me know how soon we can arrange the sale.

Kelly claimed that he bought the AR to show that it's too easy to buy an "assault weapon". That's the same logic that Christopher Dorner used to voice his support for gun control laws in his manifesto...
If you had a well regulated AWB, this would not happen. The time is now to reinstitute a ban that will save lives. Why does any sportsman need a 30 round magazine for hunting? Why does anyone need a suppressor? Why does anyone need a AR15 rifle? This is the same small arms weapons system utilized in eradicating Al Qaeda, Taliban, and every enemy combatant since the Vietnam war.

If you’ve seen pictures of he and Gabby, I think the vibes you’re getting are the way he physically “handles” her.

He constantly has a hand on her body. It appears, to me, to be a controlling thing. Like the person with a bully type personality, they always have to be Real Close or Touching a person to show they’re more powerful.

I’ve NEVER seen a picture of them together......he just sends out BAD VIBES......can’t put my finger on it, but he’s NOT what he seems to be....IMHO.

Just my humble opinion but, I think you’re giving him too much credit. I think that he was arrogant enough to think that he could get away with it. It’s the typical mindset of the liberal population in general. He figured that he could just lie and walk away from it. That usually does work for the Libs.

Just an aside, I wonder why Drudge isn’t mentioning this on his site?

I think it is more of a reassurance/comfort thing for Gabby. And a protective thing. I think she is sensitive about the way she presents herself and doesn’t want to fall down or look stupid. He knows her limitations, and he stays close.

I don’t like Mark Kelly. I think he is a flake. A loon. But I don’t fault him for his protectiveness. In his mind, this vibrant spitfire gal had all that taken away from her. Now she is a shell. He’s protective of what is left.

They used him in campaign commercials before her last campaign -— the one she barely won (and not on Election Day itself, from ballots that were counted for nearly a week). I never saw him with her at any events, but he was probably in TX. She didn’t even actually live in the district, but maintained a room in a house to pretend that she did. Everything about these two looters and leeches was always a complete scam.

He’s a disgusting ghoul. He released a photo of her dead-looking hand, and the creepiest photos ever of her bed sheets — within days of being admitted to the hospital.

Everything was one pure campaign move on his part, from beginning to end. Gabby would most likely have done the same thing were the roles reversed as the whole marriage seemed to be another sham (like BO and MO).

Kelly even revealed intimate secrets about their fertility that he had no business on the planet spilling. She is at about the mentality of 5 or 6 years old (I’m guessing) and I doubt would have approved his loose lips.

If you look at the timeline of when they met — the one that hasn’t been scrubbed from the Internet — it appeared that he was at least emotionally cheating on his wife. It’s a huge part of why we (locals) suspect the daughters would not talk to Gabby until after the shooting, when they were forced to.

This clown’s publicity stunt didn’t fool anybody, garnered him a lot of bad PR, and, if he lives up to his word (doubtful) and turns the gun over to the cops, cost him some money. He is a creep exploiting his wife. Does he have a job anymore, or is he going to be an “ex-astronaut” for the rest of his life?
