I wonder if the Norks realize that with today’s advanced weaponry, the destruction from a new war would be far worse than the destruction from the first war. Seoul would suffer serious damage, but Pyongyang would be turned into a smoking crater.

But even with "warmongering republicans" in office, we always exercise as much restraint as possible and the N.Koreans know it. The scenario you describe would only happen if Ender Wiggin were in office (which would be awesome by the way). With Obama the most he would do is threaten them with sanctions... which is kind of like threatening to threaten someone.

Thanks Biggirl. Zero’s polishing his prepared remarks for apology and surrender.

You would think that after all these years, the SKors and the Chinese would have reached a “business” understanding, a contingency, about how, if Nork was about to fall, the Chinese would “secure” their nukes, and the SKors would give “stability” guarantees from a unified Korea.

Truthfully, it would be a huge boost to China economically, as well as giving them an opportunity to send vast numbers of Korean illegal aliens home. And, most importantly, it would defuse the region to prevent any nuclear misunderstandings.
