Men wouldn’t be leftists if they thought they could succeed on their own efforts,

therefore, they’re envious of those who can.

You don’t know leftist men if you think they’re not riven with envy.

Leftist men are very envious. My point is leftist men have female levels of envy, higher than normal male levels. Vanity and envy, aka narcissism, are considered female traits.

I really think you’re wrong.

Male vanity is of a different type, and they go about seeking reassurance in different ways. But is repeatedly been studied and concluded that there are more narcissistic men than women. Men are also far more likely to rate themselves above average in attractiveness, intelligence, driving skills, etc. in comparison to other men.

If you think women in general have envy on par with leftist men, you must not have a very high opinion of or appreciation for women in general.

There's a piece of furniture called a vanity and it's meant for women. There's a magazine called Vanity Fair, and it's not for men. Gossip is a form of envy, which women are noted for. If you don't think women in general are more vain/envious/narcissistic/leftist you don't know women at all. Women's source of narcissistic supply is different than men, comes from family, friends, husband's position, social circle, which are traditional activities for women, so their narcissistic behavior may not stand out to you as unusual. Studies that note there are more men with NPD than women are limited to NPD, not narcissism in general.

I see you’ve a very negative view of women in your past postings and will leave it there.

I read an article yesterday about how writers should do more to promote the equality of women scientists. The writer of this article has noticed that profiles of women scientists highlight how they juggle family and career, but profiles of men scientists never mention their families. She opines that this is blatant sexism... well, I won’t go into everything that she said.

But these kinds of articles always promote the idea that women are held back, somehow. In my career, there is a glass ceiling for women scientists. But the same is true of any career. While the assumption is always that the glass ceiling exists because of the “glass ceiling”, it overlooks the proverbial 800 pound gorilla in the room. Women are biologically programmed to put their children first. Men simply are not programmed the same way.

I remember reading in my calculus textbook the story of a Cambridge professor in the 1700s who tried to interest more girls in studying higher math by publicizing an Italian mathematician, Maria Agnesi. I believe that women are still underrepresented in math, despite that effort.

Promoting equal rights for women is great. We can compete in any academic field; physically, we’re limited, and that won’t change. But people (liberals) are going to have to realize that open doors don’t mean that every woman is going to rush through them. The fact that many women still don’t choose the high-power careers doesn’t necessarily mean that an institutional bias is keeping them out or down.

I arranged my classes and work schedule around my son. I did not finish college until the year he graduated from high school. I’ll never advance as far as a man in my field, but that’s a result of my choices, nothing else.

Sandberg laments that women "are not making it to the top of any profession anywhere in the world.

Nonsense. The United States Government is comprised primarily of women: it's just that most of them have penises.

In the real world, there is a general consensus that women as a group make lousy bosses. Women tell me that every day and I believe them. Plus I've seen it in the flesh, so to speak. This Sandberg queenie confirms it for me. Sophomoric prep school stupidity on the hoof.

Funny you should say that. I was talking with a dear female friend who works in the private sector who told me just today of a two hour meeting they had, to "evaluate" a female boss, at her request, and another two hour meeting where she wanted to settle what she needed to do better or differently to meet people's criticisms.

I worked for the government for over twenty years and we had a million meetings but never once did even one come close to two hours.
