An anonymous White House aide says that the president reaching out to Republicans is a "joke," a waste of time, and stunt for the media.
As Ron Fournier of National Journal reports:
Obama’s sudden burst of public outreach coincides with a drop in his approval ratings, noted first by Democratic pollsters advising the White House last week and now surfacing in a spate of public polls. This raises the uncomfortable question: Is this schmooze-a-thon a legitimate act of humility and leadership or a cynical public display?
I can’t answer that question because I don’t pretend to know Obama’s state of mind. I can tell you that some of his advisers are no more convinced that this strategy will work than they were a few days ago.
“This is a joke. We’re wasting the president’s time and ours,” complained a senior White House official who was promised anonymity so he could speak frankly. “I hope you all (in the media) are happy because we’re doing it for you.”

...and don’t forget his so-called opponents have remarked what a great family man he is. Apparently that’s the only good thing even these ‘moderates’ (Stand for nothing) can think of to say about this enemy of the American people.
I think it amazing that he was able to sire two daughters given his past history of having boy friends, but no girl friends.
What we have in the White Hut today, along with 1,000 WH employees is a complete phony, hater of America and destroyer of our economy. He does it all....deliberately.
I wish Big Media would admit that the Democrats ruled for 2 years without ANY input from Republicans. The ‘reaching out’ to Republicans is nothing more than smoke and mirrors. If the general public would ever be informed that the state of the nation is completely the fault of the Democrats, the D’s wouldn’t get near higher public office for decades. Sadly, Big Media will shill for the Democrats until the cows come home. We are seriously underserved by not having an ‘independent Media’.

Either the GOP ‘leaders’ are so clueless or they are a in on the joke and don’t mind being the butt of it.
Wow! I just visited Antietam Battlefield this weekend. It occurred to me then that this is what happens when our elected officials fail at coming to a compromise. Fail at doing their jobs. Obama didn’t have enough votes to pass his budget when he had control of both houses. He needs to compromise his budget wishes and so should the Republicans. They should be locked-in the capitol building until they come to a consensus.
No wonder we are called the stupid party. I can’t help but think of Charlie Brown and Lucy with the football.
And they knew just who would be stupid enough to be puppets (useful idiots) and jump on the chance to be rubes in the little farce.
