They’ve become a joke so easily manipulated by the left that they’ll happily destroy anyone who rises to the top and come out feeling like they’ve saved America.

I have no idea what you are talking about, but your simple mindedness is obvious enough, holding your ears and crying liar, liar, liar in every post just doesn’t count for much.

None of the people who ran for the Republican candidacy in 2012 were perfect, that is for sure.

Mitt Romney was a self-avowed national socialist, like his father, Gov.George Romney, and like Obama.

Ron Paul - who may or may not be anti-Semitic.

Newt Gingrich, the perapatetic poltical opportunist and lothario.

Rick Santorum whose social conservatism was the only thing conservative about him.

So, since the subject of this thread was Rand Paul and how principle will win over milleniums, how does he rate against the four above?

Who was your preferred candidate of the last few standing? I was for Newt.

The primaries sucked big time. Way too much in-fighting.

“Some say” the lack of harmony among Conservatives is a healthy sign of critical thinking, but in the final analysis, it’s costing us elections as far as I’m concerned.

I think there is a lot of outside manipulation. There are a couple dozen long time FReepers who appear only at election time and seem to drive a lot of infighting only to declare that we've picked a nominee and we need to get behind him. Then they disappear for 4 more years.

Hey you saw what they said about Santorum. The man is a filthy moralist!

Thank God he never became president.

“Rick Santorum whose social conservatism was the only thing conservative about him.”

You might want to let your buddy Ansel in on that one... He seems to think that Santorum is a pro-abort.

You are the only person lying, in post after post, you seem to think that chanting it hides the actual facts.

Santorum has no ideological consistency, that might be why he suffered a worse defeat than Christine ODonnell, a 17.4% wipe out, and he was the incumbent!

Santorum was anti-Reagan during the Reagan years and mocked his supporters as right wingers, Santorum switched to pro-life in 1990 to run for office, although he had been involved in liberal republican politics for years.

Santorum campaigned as a “progressive conservative originally, Santorum endorsed and campaigned with Specter in his 1996 presidential run to throw out life from the GOP platform.

Santorum was devoted to Specter and did what he could to keep Toomey out of that Senate seat, supporting Specter in 2004 AND 2010, when we were making historical gains for conservatives.

Santorum was a loyal and dedicated Romney man before he made his own run, which many saw as a feint by a pro-union rino trying to recover from his history making rejection from his Senate seat and win a job as a media figure, if not a vice-presidential choice for Romney.

“Santorum has no ideological consistency”

Really? Your own pal SatinDoll argues the contrary that Santorum is solidly social conservative.

Moral courage is a bridge too far for most folks. Look at the way they savaged Michele Bachmann.
