New Pope: No Communion for Pro-Abortion Politicians
breitbart.com ^ | March 13 2013 | staff

New Pope Francis I is a conservative in the mold of his predecessor, Pope Benedict XVI and Pope John Paul II. That’s especially true on the issue of abortion, which he called a “death sentence” for the unborn in 2007. “We aren’t in agreement with the death penalty,” he said during that speech, “but in Argentina we have the death penalty. A child conceived by the rape of a mentally ill or retarded woman can be condemned to death.”

In his writings, Francis wrote, “we should commit ourselves to ‘eucharistic coherence,’ that is, we should be conscious that people cannot receive holy communion and at the same time act or speak against the commandments, in particular when abortions, euthanasia, and other serious crimes against life and family are facilitated. This responsibility applies particularly to legislators, governors, and health professionals.”

Francis is also anti-euthanasia: “Today,” he wrote, “elderly people are discarded when, in reality, they are the seat of wisdom of the society. The right to life means allowing people to live and not killing, allowing them to grow, to eat, to be educated, to be healed, and to be permitted to die with dignity.”

Is this really enforceable? I mean, is he just blowing smoke (excuse the pun.)?

Can a pro-abortion “catholic” just go to confession before mass and “get right” long enough to take communion, and then go about their baby killing afterward?

How great would it be if San Fran Nan slithered to the communion rail and was denied.
That one act could send a lot of people back to church.

Excommunicate Joe Biden, Nancy Pelosi, all Kennedys, all Cuomos. etc, etc.

And the entire Commonwealth of Massachusetts.

I don’t believe they can if they have been ex-communicated.

“elderly people are discarded when, in reality, they are the seat of wisdom of the society.”

I could not agree with this statement more. This is probably the most misunderstood and regularly discarded fact of the last 80+ years.

Particularly here in America where programs were created to separate the young from their elder kin leading to the corruption of that young and the progressive break down of the underpinnings of our civilization(Family).

There is much more to know and learn about life than the “fact” we are taught in school, by men & women who for the most part have no practical experience in any field but the field of education.

Why is it that the oldest and most experienced of our civilization are discarded instead of harnest to pass on that experience & the life lesions they learned to the youngest of their kin?

We have for 80 odd years been systematically losing the core values enencal to a stable individual, family, and civilization because quite frankly they are not being passed on effectively, by thoses who have learned it.

Instead we are paying for so call “professal” who have no such proven life experience to pass on in the first place. Is it any wonder that this so called professional class called Teachers have not only failed in their duty but produced each generation of children less capable and more self-destructive than the last?

I don’t think denying communion is the same as excommunication. Correct me if I’m wrong.

“”Excommunicate Joe Biden, Nancy Pelosi, all Kennedys, all Cuomos. etc, etc.”

I am quite sure that we might find 50 rigous people in Massachusetts, but i think we would find it much easier for them 50 to simply leave that state for more free lands than to try and control that which is otherwise wicket.

In any-event Massachusetts does its own sorting with high taxes and regulations driving up the cost of living as to prohibit many from living there without either assistance or great means.

The remainder who cannot afford to reside in Massachusetts have already left for other states.

Is the new Pope a Catholic?

Sadly, Archbishop Chaput has indicated that it is the responsibility of the communicant to stay away from the Communion Rail....
. -- from the thread Will Denver Catholic Archbishop finally enforce Canon 915?
"...there's a question about whether this canon'' – the relevant church law – "was ever intended to be used'' to bring politicians to heel. He thinks not. "I stand with the great majority of American bishops and bishops around the world in saying this canon was never intended to be used this way.'' -- from the thread [Archbishop] Wuerl: Why I Won't Deny Pelosi Communion
Albany Bishop Howard Hubbard says it is "unfair and imprudent" to conclude that Gov. Andrew Cuomo and his girlfriend, Sandra Lee, shouldn't receive Communion simply because they're living together. -- from the thread Bishop: None of your business (Hubbard rejects Catholic expert's criticism of Gov. Cuomo)
[Cardinal Timothy Dolan] also does not outright deny the sacrament to dissenting Catholic lawmakers, but he is seen as an outspoken defender of church orthodoxy in a style favored by many theological conservatives.
-- from the thread US bishops elect NYC archbishop as head in upset (Catholic bloggers blamed)

I do not think that someone who has been excommunicated can receive communion as they are no longer recognized by the Catholic Church.

...without either assistance or great means.

Why would anyone with means volitionally want to live there instead of someplace warmer and with a friendlier tax structure?

Putting your faith where your words are! Now if we could only hope our Christian evangelical leaders would all stand together in following God’s precious word...Heaven and earth shall pass away but My words shall never pass away ...Jesus

—— Can a pro-abortion “catholic” just go to confession before mass and “get right” long enough to take communion, and then go about their baby killing afterward? ——

The priest may forgive or retain sins. Though the latter is rare, the priest may do so if he discerns impenitence.

Nevertheless, your scenario is possible, but the sacrament would be objectively void, since the penitent would have lied about his contrition. God would not be fooled.

Cardinal O'Connor (Bless his memory) never permitted pro choice politicians to speak at St Patricks. Rudy Guliani was not permitted to received while O'Connor was alive.

He had to be dead for Bill Clinton to get into St.Patricks.
