Snip:

Is Obama declaring war on U.S. military?

Obama has made no secret of his plans for deep military cuts that would downsize the Pentagon. In 2010, he cut $487 billion from the defense budget. In 2011, he signed into law a budget process intended to cut an additional $492 billion over 10 years.

The New York Times recently reported:

“On the list are not only base closings but also an additional reduction in deployed nuclear weapons and stockpiles and a restructuring of the military medical insurance program that costs more than America spends on all of its diplomacy and foreign aid around the world. Also being considered is yet another scaling back in next-generation warplanes, starting with the F-35, the most expensive weapons program in United States history.”

According to the report, some senior Pentagon officials have argued that massive cuts could leave room to increase funding for “building drones, developing offensive and defensive cyberweapons and focusing on Special Operations forces.”

But retired Army Lt. Col. Robert Maginnis, a national security and foreign affairs analyst, warned, “These cuts leave America with a military inventory of ancient and broken equipment. Our tanker aircraft are on average 47 years old and our strategic bombers 34 years old, and besides, their numbers are totally insufficient for America’s global missions. For example, our air force shrank from 82 fighter squadrons at the end of the Cold War to 39 today and our Navy is in worse shape. We have a naval fleet of 284 ships and shrinking even though naval planners indicate we need at least 328 ships.”

In 2012, Obama declared that the “tide of war is receding” and called for shrinking the U.S. Army and Marines. The Los Angeles Times reported that Obama vowed to “ensure our security with smaller conventional

There actually are about 50 open pilot slots at USAFA right now. Each class gets roughly 500 slots, and only 456 were taken this year (as of Feb).

“America was once a Shining City On A Hill. She is now a late night comedy skit.”

America is ultimately a reflection of its people. At one time the nation was populated by hardworking individuals who believed in God and personal responsibility. Most were small farmers and shopkeepers who were self reliant, providing for their own needs. Living in small communities they collaborated with neighbors and took pride in country and state. They valued their freedom and would sacrifice their lives to defend it. Service to the nation was a civic responsibility.

Today the nation is fractured. The urban dwelling centers are economically and socially dependent on government. When you are one of two million, living anonymously you look to government for production and life support not your neighbors. Without God in the soul, there is no attendance at church and therefore no sense of community or understanding of morality. There is not pride in country or feeling of obligation to sustain it. The urban centers are filled with people of all income levels, races, and backgrounds who do not know God and who look for the government to sustain life, provide infrastructure and benefits, and define the rules of social engagement. Government expects only obedience and no personal responsibility to self, family or nation.

A nation where the majority of the people have no pride in the nation nor will they sacrifice their lives to preserve it will ultimately not spend on national defense. People who will not bear arms to defend themselves, their communities or their countries will not tax themselves to buy a military to defend themselves. Look at Europe. Fat and prosperous with no military thanks to 60 years of living under the US nuclear umbrella and not having to fund a military force.

We are today a balkanized nation of individuals angling to game the system for maximum personal benefit. The millionaire Wall Street banker needlessly churning the IRA accounts of millions of citizens to generate transaction fees is no different from the welfare cheat hustling on the street. Neither will sacrifice a drop of blood or dollar of personal money for the safety of the nation. Both worship money instead of God and measure success in life by the possessions they accumulate.

If the US is a joke, it is what it citizens want. About 250 years ago the shopkeepers and farmers in the British colonies along the Atlantic seaboard began resenting the growing intrusion of a far away government in their lives. Ultimately they risked and sacrificed their lives, their fortunes and their sacred honor to break free and establish a nation based on individual liberty.

Today the majority of their descendants clamor for more intrusion by government in their lives. Perceiving no external threats to the status quo, they will be happy for the government to redirect defense spending to new programs providing them more personal gratification. The downward spiral will continue until one day a resource hungry foreign power decides to begin harvesting America’s abundant natural resources. It will be easy to slaughter the sheep suckling at the teat of a hollowed out government unable to defend those dependent upon it.

This has been the history of mankind through the ages. Those who do not know history are condemned to repeat it. Those educated in America’s public schools know nothing about the history of past civilizations, they are only taught the history of racial and ethnic struggles and how the government is the only entity that can make things better.

China is arming rapidly, the US is dismantling its forces. China is natural resource poor, America is natural resource rich. It isn’t hard to see how this movie will end. When Obama unilaterally reduces the US nuclear force to 150 or fewer aging weapons that may or may not work (his stated objective) and the Chinese have enough missiles, submarines, and drones to take our our carrier fleets, and their North Korean clients are capable of executing a knockout EMP strike on the continental US, what do you think will happen?

They also cut education funds for military folk, while giving in-state tuition and tuition assistance to illegals. Pretty clearly shows where this administration’s loyalties are, no?

Clinton-Pelosi: “We can and should outsource defense contracts to China”

MSMReporter: “What if we were to go to war with China?”

Clinton-Pelosi: “Postulating a war between the US and China is ridiculous. In the event such a war were to occur, we would expect China to honor any defense contracts”

We’ll be down to bayonets soon.

More like spit balls like Zell Mueller said in the Republican convention some years ago.
