Yep, and the amnesty that Rubio has proposed and somehow all of our prominent, elected GOPers in DC now support, would snuff out any conservative victories for the duration of our country.

How do we expect to demonstrate that care?

Communicate better. That is the road to victory. Do you not see it?

From the Beck interview:

Asked by Beck for his thoughts on the Second Amendment, Carson gave the popular pro-gun argument: “There’s a reason for the Second Amendment; people do have the right to have weapons.”

But when asked whether people should be allowed to own “semi-automatic weapons,” the doctor replied: “It depends on where you live.”

“I think if you live in the midst of a lot of people, and I’m afraid that that semi-automatic weapon is going to fall into the hands of a crazy person, I would rather you not have it,” Carson elaborated.

However, if you live “out in the country somewhere by yourself” and want to own a semi-automatic weapon, he added, “I’ve no problem with that.”

So yes, I know all candidates are imperfect, and I'd swap Obama for this guy in a heartbeat. But the education he needs in constitutional principle is substantial. In the above quote he trivializes the constitutional basis for the right to keep and bear arms, turns it into a pseudo-pragmatic analysis that ignores the basic principle that everyone, regardless of where they live, has a) a right to life and a right to defend that life with lethal force when necessary, and b) the duty of all able Americans to stand ready to use private weapons in defense of the public good, as in for example the Battle of Athens, TN. That event was not about self-defense; it was an act of American defense, righteous defiance against corruption and oppression and home-town tyranny, and runs closer to the core meaning of the Second Amendment than even self-defense.

If the good Dr. has missed all that, he has missed a great deal, and I worry how he will hold up when tested on the other critical principles of constitutional governance.

he;s right.

The left is trying to split republicans and conservatives
liberals are pretending to be one of us to get elected in districts and then vote as a Dem
Libertarians use our platforms, primaries, our party because their;s is never going to take off , pretend they;re republicans, get elected as republicans and then tell us we have to change socially and accept homsexuality, their agenda, drugs be legal, make defence cuts etc.

Damn right the Doc is right and republicans had better wake up to what is going on

National Review has been taken over by the queers...

If these idiot RINOs don’t like exclusion of the homosexual agenda at CPAC, why don’t they start their own group and call it FudgePAC ???

if you want to be socially liberal then go and join the Dems or the libertarians and stop telling us that we have to change and reach out.

If you want to be a conservative, have a strong defence, marriage is one man and one woman between them, not put the country into debt, not have illegals breaking the law and then getting welfare , go by the rule of law, close the border and stop wanting more druggies on the street or perverts then be a republican.

But I;m sick and tired of CPAC, our primaries, our party, talking heads, elected officials telling us that we should give up our views and be like a libertarian or liberal

Communicate better. That is the road to victory. Do you not see it?

Communicate what? I live in the real world. I see how changing demographics are affecting the electorate. CA is the canary in the coal mine. No amount of communicating will result in CA going Rep in national elections. And I cannot conceive of a Rep being elected to the senate from CA.

The changing electorate aren't receptive to the Rep message. I see it here in VA and how the state is now purple and will eventually be blue. It is happening in Colorado, Nevada, Arizona, North Carolina, and Florida.

By 2019 half of the children 18 and under will be minorities as defined by the USG and by 2042 half of the country will be minorities. Immigration drives 80% of our population growth. 57% of immigrant headed households with children are on welfare. 25% of the adult legal immigrants we bring in lack even a high school degree. We are importing poverty including hundreds of thousands of high school dropouts every year. Immigrants and minorities vote Dem.

Romney won the non-Hispanic white vote in all age groups. His 59% would have won Presidential elections even in 2008. Blacks (95%), Hispanics (71%), and Asians (73%) voted for Obama. The country is being Balkanized along racial, ethnic, cultural, and linguistic lines. Demography is destiny.

exactly Sir.

They want a turd poking boy scouts then they set it up.
They want a turd feces sex love fest [yuck] then have the fudge packing PAC but I;m sick of non conservatives pretending to be a conservative telling us we have to change and give up morals, tradition and the family.

When I go to a lot of so-called “conservative” blogs (even Breitbart and National Review) you have to put up with abuse by the leftist homo trolls, and if you respond in kind, you are banned...

I don't understand your post. Brooks said to communicate how conservatism is caring about people, which it is. You're talking about going liberal.

The changing electorate aren't receptive to the Rep message.

Only because we're communicating and leading poorly.

I listen to this man and I hear another great person like a Reagan. He is appealing, he can communicate and he encourages you by just listening to him.

He IMO is the whole package and would be great for the country should he choose to run IMO.

Great man IMO.

Well, the vast majority of the county believes the county is headed in the wrong direction and have little confidence in Mr. Obama’s economic policies. If businesses and families were moving to California I would be concerned but when they are fleeing in droves, there is definitely an opening for conservatives.

Considering the people in large cities voted for Obama in droves, many who live there may not be mentally stable enough to own firearms. (just kidding)

The Second Amendment is very important to me, so this doesn’t sound good. I will be watching and listening carefully to him. I hope he realizes the Second Amendment applies everywhere in the United States.

Well, I think that a majority of Republican politicians don’t care about Republican voters, so how far ff the truth are they?

I’ll second that. Great speaker. So much commonsense. A good and decent man. GOP better hang on to Ben Carson.
