North Korea tells South to leave islands (Strike warning)

The Uriminzokkiri website, linked to the regime, mentioned targets including Yeonpyeong island, which was attacked by Northern forces in 2010.

Pyongyang has made a series of threats since its last nuclear test in February prompted the UN to tighten sanctions.

The US said on Friday it would refocus missile defences to its west coast to counter the North's threats.

Defence Secretary Chuck Hagel said 14 more batteries would be placed in Alaska by 2017, adding to 30 already in place along the coast.

Not for a good long while yet.

Perhaps.

Their delivery systems are still not very reliable.

Not yet. But even with a 1/3 reliability 3 launches = one successful orbital insertion.

Their suspected nuclear devices are still too large to be able to fit on the tip of a missile.

As far as we "know". We don't actually "know" that much about them. Are the low yield explosions indications of failed city buster nuclear bombs or successful tests of enhanced yield (neutron or EMP trigger) bombs?

Their technology is still not sophisticated enough to detonate any EMP device over Kansas.

They have the puzzle pieces.

If they continue to develop their technology, these things will be possible, but not for at least a decade, IMO.

Within a factor of two to how far way from any bomb the CIA said they were when they actually set one off.

So Obama and the libtards have decided a missile defense system isn't such a bad idea.......to bad they didn't have the brains to have seen it thirty years ago when it was first brought up!!!

Their long range missiles have recently been seen on mobile launch platforms.
That means you could place some on a cargo ship and send them nearly anywhwere including about 150 miles off the Virginia coast.
Take em out of containers on the deck and send them to whereve they may go.

Unfounded speculation from all sides. Nobody “knows” anything with reliability, but taking into account our own experiences, your hypothesis is unfounded at this time.

Again, you simply leave out the reciprocal consequences of their actions with a hypothetical EMP attack. They are well aware of the hardening our Military has for critical systems and we won't be simply helpless in such an event, and we will be quite capable of annihilating their country if we have the backbone.

If they are getting orders and/or help from China, then what you're really looking at is the jumping off point for the next World War, and likely including the use of Strategic and Tactical Nuclear weapons (whether or not our POTUS likes it, we'll have to retaliate in kind or surrender). If you believe we'll simply capitulate, what is the point of worrying? You're almost all of the way there to being a slave of either the Marxists in our own country, or the ChiComs.

What do you propose we do about it?

They have Kim Il Unnngh; we have The Won.

He's stupid enough to do it; he's weak enough to allow it.

What do you propose we do about it?

I don't see a viable solution, do you?

Get our own house in order first and foremost.

We project weakness with the Marxists in charge. The only people our government is tough on is our own people. If we can't turn society away from the path it's traveling, nothing else will really matter.

How do we do that? I don't have the answers, but I believe that society more or less must collapse before the parasites in this country either change their “ways” (evolve or devolve depending upon your point of view) or are permanently marginalized.

I strongly disagree.

What we need to do (immediately) is to stop supporting China, stop offshoring, and bring back as many US jobs as possible.

From everywhere.

Starting right now. What we are doing now is committing national suicide.

Agreed.

I can only add two words:

...the parasites in this country either change their “ways” (evolve or devolve depending upon your point of view) or are permanently marginalized or die.

Disagree? What you say is part of getting our house in order.

Ok partly disagree.

We need to rebuild America now. Bring back American industry and US jobs.

We have been exporting both for almost 30 years, and have nearly destroyed our country.

BRING BACK US JOBS NOW.

What you propose, even though we’ve read it posted from you countless times, is only only going to solve a small part of the problem, and is very difficult to achieve without a change in mindset of the majority of the citizens of this country.

Marginalized was chosen as an all inclusive term that encompassed the two words you added. :)

It doesn’t have to come to that, but it likely will, and I can see many scenarios that will play out to that end.

That is precisely what I am trying to do.

And yes, the GOP along with Dems both seem to have decided to sell American industry to mostly China quite a long time ago. Selling American jobs right and left. And right and left. Millions upon millions of US jobs.

Now China sells us what we need, and we send them money. Meanwhile our government supports all the people now out of work.

Hello?

Anyone else surprized our military now faces cuts?

Anyone else decided we need jobs in America?

We need to balance our budget, and make things here.

To answer your question, NK has crossed a line by both threatening a nuclear attack and developing a nuclear delivery system. The threat should be eliminated because of the extreme asymetrical devastation which NK can inflict with nuclear weapons. We are now risking the deadly mistake of thinking that we can predict the behavior of an unstable child.

And yes in a future scenario NK can be China’s way of destroying a US city without direct responsibility. China should be told that if they don’t eliminate the threat asap we will be doing so.

Attacking NK is the answer? That basically would be declaring war on China, so where will that get us?

If NK attacks us, it’s simply a proxy attack by China, and then where are we?

How do you propose we eliminate said “threats”?
