The question is... will this victory be a blessing or a curse for Rand Paul? Only time will tell.

At the moment, I’m more focused on 2014, because if we fail to take the Senate and keep the House that year, we’re finished.

"Last year, Mitt Romney won the straw poll, which came in the middle of a bruising GOP primary. Mr. Santorum took second place."

Anybody else see a problem with this group and their "pole"?

I was really surprised that Ted Cruz did not win the straw poll..just at the mention of his name he got a huge applause..yet he had only 4 percent of the vote(With Sarah Palin at 3 percent) I guess the younger audience really loves Rand Paul

Well, I still like Sarah Palin and Ted Cruz much better than the entire list. I do like Rand Paul in some respects.... loved his 13 hour stand for America and our constitution.

I am very pleased that Saintorum scored low.

I read in another thread that Jeb Bush requested his name NOT be placed on the CPAC Straw Poll. lol

I am surprised that Cruz only got 4%.

It will be very important for GOP candidates going forward to be fearless and unapologetic conservatives, respond immediately to Democrat smears, and go over the heads of the media and take their message directly to the people.

The candidates who can do that will prevail.

Since Paulites were involved, I never trust those type of polls.

Cruz y Paul para Presidente y Vice-Presidente!!!

Que hombres inteligentes y machismo. Mmm, mmm, mmm.

No mas Rubio o Christie (pro-amnesty). Adios, senores.

Besides, Senator Cruz is half-Irish.....and I'll have a mug of Irish beer in his honor this coming Sunday.

(Don't expect too much from high school Espanol classes....but I'm sure you get my drift).

Rand Paul demonstrates more common sense than any plausible candidate in 2016.

Imagine a country who has $17,000,000,000,000 national debt. That does not include $90,000,000,000,000 unfunded future liabilities in current law. This nation borrows money from China to keep spending because it has $1.15 Trillion budget deficits 4 years running average. But this country spends huge amounts on maintaining 750 military bases worldwide.

But the most idiotic action by this country is to spend borrowed money from China to protect oil supplies to China because China gets a huge amount of oil passing through the Straits of Hormuz.

I hope this stupid country is not mine, but sadly it is. Kudos to Rand for showing common sense to push an agenda to prevent national bankruptcy and robbing the kids.

In case you have not heard Cyprus was also drowning in debt. Guess what their government was forced to do yesterday...They confiscated cash from all persons with assets! Spain and Italy and Portugal won’t be far behind.

.
.
.

Both Paul Ryan & Eric Cantor have said they will back increased background checks on firearms.

That would include gun shows and also private sales and private transfers.

That is infringing and registering - leading to banning and confiscation.

The Devil is in the details kiddies.

“We have to pass the bill to see what is in it!”

Grow up and smell the bullshit.

Coulter would not say anything about Rand Paul. Both Coulter and Palin said positive things about Cruz. Cruz devoted a lot of his speech, (no teleprompter or notes) to Rand Paul.\\
