My understanding is that the tea party is a movemen within the republican party, whereas Ukip is a party in its own right which is just going to steal votes from the Tories an let Labour in.

Bingo and worth repeating. Vote splitting just helps the libs to win.

As long as the Tories or the GOP consider certain votes as their own property, they will ignore the needs of those voters and cater to other voters. The result is that liberalism will win regardless of which party is in power. Conservatives must fight the liberals of both parties. Staying on the plantation just helps liberalism.

It’s a little different in the UK in that a majority coalition has to be formed. So, unless UKIP allies with labour, labour does not benefit at all.

The Bly way votes are stolen is through fraud of some kind. Are you accusing the UKIP of election fraud?

Sorry, “Bly” should be “only”.

You're a true voice of the establishment. "...steal votes from the Tories an let Labour in." The Tories don't own the votes, they must earn them. The Tories are losing votes the old-fashioned way, by not implementing policies desired by their voters. The Tories have stabbed a significant portion of potential voters in the back and you say the nerve of those back-stabbed voters to take it personally and go somewhere else. Whose fault is this? In your view, it's the fault of the ungrateful voters, who don't take the slop their fed with a smile and a bowed back.
There's no future in your strategy.
If voters keep voting Tories in to keep Labour out, what is the differnce in the end, when Tories implement Labour policies?
We've seen the same thing here over the decades with the GOP.
