Interesting that Vermont is in the best group.
We are ALWAYS told that states with loose gun laws have people shooting up the place. Vermont is second only to Maine as a low violent-crime state. Vermont and Maine also have other characteristics that may be a factor, but I don’t want to get into a racial discussion here.
DC, with its draconian gun laws, is worse than any state in violent crime. I’ll leave that as an exercise to the student.
I have lived in VT, I visit there still quite often.
I have never, ever seen anyone carrying (aside from rifles during deer season.)
And this was in the rural Northeast Kingdom. I guess I will have to pay more attention.
