Mar 19, 2013, 6:27am MDT Magpul preparing to leave Colorado

Staff Denver Business Journal

Magpul Industries Inc. of Boulder intends to "start out transition out of the state almost immediately" after Gov. John Hickenlooper signs into law a measure limiting the number of rounds allowed in magazines, KMGH-TV reports.

The governor is expected to sign House Bill 1224 on Wednesday. The bill restricts to 15 the number of rounds a magazine can hold. But Magpul Industries makes 30-round magazines. The company's website said Magpul Industries has sold millions of its polymer magazines, or "PMAGs."

Magpul Industries posted a lengthy note on its Facebook page in which the company said it expects the first PMAGs to be made outside of Colorado within 30 days of Hickenlooper signing the bill.

I’m not in favor of any of those awful regulations, but it could be done pretty easy with laser engraving.

The same way New York, New Jersey, California and Illinois do.

The point being that it would be REQUIRED on ALL magazines that they produce - even ones sold outside of Colorado. Thus the PMAG would get a reputation as being a traceable/registered magazine. This will cause them to be less favored in the marketplace.

Second, in addition the laser process would need to be added to the production line and before shipping. That would still be a costly re-engineering of their business processes. It would also expose them to a lawsuit if even one magazine gets shipped without the proper serial numbers and date of manufacture.

NY, California, Mass, CT, RI, Wash, and now Colo. should be toxic states for business.

if anything made in california should mean poison to sales.

BTW the only movies made in Calif. these days are the accounting books for the movies. With film going away FINALLY, the new all digital quality formats should free the movie industry from the toxic left coast.

Points well made.

Colorado went for Baraq by > 5 points last time.

I suspect it’s a lost cause.

Best that patriots head for the exits while they can.

Yeah, but they’re not so concerned about hi cap mags. They just want hand outs.

WV has been red in Presidential races since 2000, both of our Senators are dems, Manchin is a moderate, Rockhead is a big lib/socialist(he’s got his). 2 out of the 3 Rep’s are republicans, one is running for Rockheads vacated seat. I have not heard any anti-gun talk at all coming from the legislature. WV is mostly a rural state in rolling mountains with generally narrow valleys. There is a greater chance that Barretta would move to WV than Magpul,as they seem likely to stay in the mid-Atlantic area, if they leave the Peoples Republic of Maryland

“Best that patriots head for the exits while they can.”

And go where? Liberal marxists will just follow the trail of jobs and quality of life. They’re like bed bugs. No, they ARE bed bugs.

California. Arizona. Nevada. All these states were mighty conservative. I remember back when New Mexico used to be ole-school ranch land.

Time to step up and say “no”. Pinkos hate that word. Makes their shells itch.

I don't want to start a fuss, but you are telling me that WV is red and they have 2 Dems as Senators? Voting red in presidential races just means they don't want a black pres. Remember the Grand Wizard they had for 40 years? WV has been on the dole so long, I don't think they understand what conservatism means.

This is not directed at you, but to the state over all. You have to learn collectively what is good for the state. If there was a glint of hope, Mansion would not have won. He just made promises and they continued to believe. People in other states have figured out 40 years ago that Dems LIE! Being from WV doesn't change that. My Dem is better than your Dem just doesn't work anymore. If you don't like Kennedy or Cuomo, then why would you think Mansion would do anything different. Recently, he even started to make noises that he would support the Assault Weapons Ban.

Right before the election, coal miners that were in the process of losing their jobs, turned on Obama. Even the union bosses didn't pick a side to help the miners. Why didn't they hear 4 years earlier that Obama would kill coal? Either they don't believe he would really do it, or they just can't pull the Repub lever. This just shows me that all the gun owners in WV will think they are perfectly safe up until they kick the door in and take their weapons. Mansion will be saying, " We had no choice". Well yes they did.

BTW, this is a problem I have with the NRA. They give money to Dems that "vote right". Well, THEY DON'T VOTE RIGHT OR THEY WOULDN'T BE DEMS.

I would like to see them move to a second amendment friendly state with NO INCOME TAX.

Tennessee fits that bill. :-) We'd be happy to have 'em move here.

Let me be the first to officially welcome you --- as a newbie myself, I could not be happier living here.

You will hear people complain about the winds (it is windy today), but I see them as winds of freedom.

Welcome aboard !!

Well thank you sir!

I see winds as a good way to power a VAWT and then I can enjoy the freedom of being off grid! Of course, I have to move there first! :-)

It took us a while to do the move. Had discussed it for years before we finally did it. And now could not be happier.

Minnesota is quickly going to hell in a handbasket --- Colorado too.

What’s 80 feet long and has 5 teeth? The funnel cake line at the Alabama State Fair.

GO VOLS!!

how can colorado ban an item which is legal in other states? and subject to interstate commerce?

California does it. I have toys purchased in Idaho that can't be transported into CA. I have no desire to take any of my toys to CA either.
