That 75% number works when you include most of the major cities' suburbs. It's about 20% rural, 30% urban and just under 50% suburban from two sources that I saw within about the last 6 months.

While the story dwells upon Chicago, it probably applies to any city with major league sports.

FReepmail me if you want to be on or off my Illinois list.

I never noticed anyone with a Illinois ping list. I'm not from Illinois, but I'm trying to start a list for each state that includes a FReeper with a state ping list for that state if that state doesn't have one already.

If I see a story about Illinois, I want to let you know. This is not expected to be a high volume ping list.

Do any of you have a state ping list for Illinois? Do any of you want to volunteer and take my Illinois list with the intent to grow it? Let me know via FReepmail. Then I can work on other states.

While factually correct about Illegals, or even legal permanent resident aliens, voting in Chicago and County. Legally, the fact remains that, 1) when they do register to vote for State and Federal elections(1), they are committing perjury and, 2) when they do vote they're committing vote fraud.

But an issue just as big, even more so than 'The Voting Dead', and on par with illegals who may vote is all the Felons in Chicago that Register and Vote in the Black neighborhoods of Chicago. The Englewood neighborhood being a prime example where in 2000 more votes were cast in the precincts of Englewood than voting age Adults lived, let alone non Felon adults. Naturally Jesse Jackass Sr pooh-poohed this Felon Vote as no big deal because being a Felon was a "rite of passage for Black males" (seriously!) and it 'shouldn't be illegal to vote'.

Anyway, where illegals sure as heck do vote in Chicago and Crook County it isn't allowed per IL's Election Laws, not even with 'Motor Voter'. It's still a crime. Granted having Dem Prosecutors pursue these crimes is another matter. However get away from Crook County like Kane or DuPage, or Downstate where you might as well be in Alabama (they 'talk funny', really), and the number of Illegals, or Felons, who vote drop like a rock. And that reason is simple, they're run by Republicans, not Democrats. [no offense to the fine people of Downstate IL or Alabama :-)]

On a side note: Similarly, this goes for why minority gang-bangers get wrist slaps from Crook County Judges for violent crimes with guns most of the time -- unless its a Cop's or little Kid's Murder -- they're Dem Machine Pols first and they get elected too, and they need 'Auntie's and Grandma's' votes also!

(1) IIRC it was under Mayor Harold 'I like To Cross-dress' Washington, that Chicago passed a city law where all residents could vote in Elections for School Board and the local School Councils - but that was all. The 'Logic' was that illegals have children in the schools too.

Your numbers are about right. Most Americans now live in what demographers are calling exurbia, commuter communities outside of the suburbs.

Writing that 75% of Americans live in urban areas is fiction. Big, liberal cities have been losing families with children by the tens of millions since the 1990s.
