Principal calls off Honors Night because it could be 'devastating' to students who missed mark

A Massachusetts principal has been criticized for canceling his school's Honors Night, saying it could be 'devastating' to the students who worked hard, but fell short of the grades.

MyFoxBoston.com reports that David Fabrizio, principal of Ipswich Middle School, notified parents last week of his plan to eliminate the event.

The principal errors gravely. Very supportive parents can as well as other parents have a child who fails to apply themselves to their full potential, no matter how hard the very supportive parent prods their child; and a child lacking very supporting and demanding parents can chose to greatly apply themselves, without a parent’s motivation. Generalizing the excuse of “non-supportive parent” as the cause of underperforming children is just that - an excuse and rewards all underpeforming children, no matter the cause, into thinking they are as good as the rest no matter what.

G-d may have created everyone “equally” deserving of certain things in G-d’s eyes and by extension ought to be equally deserving “under the law” but neither promise makes us “equal” in very much else.

FILL IN THE BLANK, ANYTHING GOES.......he decided to make the change because [attendance, ability to pay attention, ability to open one’s locker, promptness, ability to keep from mouthing off at the teacher, ability to sit through a whole class without screaming obscenities, etc. ad infinitum] can be influenced by the amount of support a student receives at home and not all students receive the same level of emotional and academic support at home.....

I know that is the perception. I consider myself to be normal (who doesn't?) and I know I am a real conservative.

I live here, and with the exception of the politicians, the liberals and having to drive behind their cars (these aren't MA cars, but they LOOK like them)...

There is a lot to like. I have lived all over the world and in a lot of different states, and I came to love it up here when my dad retired from the Navy and moved back up to his hometown.

There are beautiful beaches, Cape Cod in the off season is wonderful. The White Mountains in New Hampshire are nice. Boston is a great city, very walkable. There is history, museums, etc.

The politics make me gnash my teeth.

Here's what this really is...

It used to be that inner-city under-achievers were putting peer pressure on others by accusing them of "acting white." "Acting white" meant studying hard and getting good grades in school instead of hanging out on the street corner or basketball hoop.

Today, the Left is trying to redefine "acting white" to be something else, something less than what it meant before.

If the school isn’t there to promote academic success, why does it exist?

I feel myself getting sick at the answer.

You are probably correct but I am focusing tight on the Neoeuropa and the blighted former America north and east of New York .

This is the kind of crappy society we live in, where the students who do the worst are the ones we listen to the most, and vica versa.

The far left runs the state. That would be enough for me to pack up and leave. Too bad because MA has a wonderful history and I’m sure it’s beautiful. But everything the left touches turns to crap, as I’m sure you have witnessed.

I left Florida for the same reason, although the northern part of the state is still pretty reasonable. I now am happy in the Upstate of SC. My neighbor across the street has a giant cross in his yard next to the road that says “Jesus Saves” and no one complains. Can’t imagine that happening in MA.

Here is the problem with just cutting Massachusetts and California off with a chainsaw and letting them slide into the ocean (Even though it sound like a lot of fun to some people):

We are all intertwined. You may think you live in a conservative state, but if you can show me a single conservative state that doesn’t have liberal rules, regulations and legislation brewing, I would like to see it.

Even Texas has liberal nonsense.

And the problem is, running away from it or putting up a protective fence around another state won’t fix it.

Liberals are pernicious, pervasive and unrelenting. We as conservatives fight, but we have to fight ALWAYS. We have to be vigilant ALWAYS. We have to have our fingers in every hole in the dike, ALWAYS. We have to be on guard and fight every single inch of loss of legislative territory to liberals, we have to do it 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, year after year, and we have to do it ALWAYS.

We have to man the ramparts through rain, snow, and beautiful weather.

Liberals, who are mixed in amongst us (and I am using “us” in the national sense, not just in MA) don’t have to man the walls with ideological weapons. They wait until we let our guard down a little, and they take a foot or two of conservative territory while we aren’t looking.

And liberalism is a one way ratchet. Once you lose something to it, they don’t give it back.

Then they go to dinner, go on vacation, or go home to sleep. We are still there when they come back, and they take another foot or two of conservative real estate from us.

And it is happening everywhere. One of the things that keeps me from losing hope is the fact that there ARE places in this country where people look at the politics of MA and CA with disgust. And they SHOULD.

But because it is easy to see elsewhere, don’t forget that the corrosive Chinese water torture drip-drip-drip of liberalism is EVERYWHERE in this country.

You won’t be safe or superior in your conservative enclaves, because liberals aren’t going to let you keep it.

Ahhhhhhh.....a million years ago, the best party was the alternative party held on the same night as The Honors Party. We called it The Stoopids Party. All the really smart guys were worried about getting into a really good school. The rest of us guys were worried about getting into a really bad girl. Yeah, they’ll probably pull this, but it was too good of a line to pass up.

That is profound rationalization. So long as we are bound to Neo Europa, america is doomed. America was , period.

You must face the fact....... liberalism has already destroyed America. Only a purge or a war can save it

Yeah, it’s devastating to the kid who studies hard and DOESN’T get honors.

Meritocracy = reward those who deserve it.
USA = punish achievers and reward slackers.
