Yes! Defund this craphole! THIS is what conservative state legislatures HAVE to start doing. Shutting down these havens of communist academia who are indoctrinating the next generation of left wing voters.

Exactly! This is where conservatives need to start the fight against the left. Stop funding left-wing indoctrination with taxpayer money.

While objecting to the cultural rot in our universities, the promotion of debauchery, and the like is very much in order. I would like to take exception with the comment of Tennessee State Senator Campbell, “We should be teaching these children what is important to learn so they can get jobs."

Vanishingly few students at universities are children -- oh, the occasional first semester freshman might be 17, and there might be a literal handful of wunderkinder who skipped grades at a university the size of U Tennessee -- and the point of attending a university is not to get jobs, but to become educated. Job training is what our underused trade schools and polytechnics (which we should have, but don't -- sort of a 'trade school plus' that offers a more rigorous and broad education with a focus on job training) are for.

Beyond the promotion of immorality, things like "Sex Week" are absolutely contrary to proper education, as the promote they speaking and thinking of rot. The principal role of university education is summed up in what Prof. John Alexander Smith of Oxford told his class in 1914:

Gentlemen, you are now about to embark on a course of studies which will occupy you for two years. Together, they form a noble adventure. But I would like to remind you of an important point. Nothing that you will learn in the course of your studies will be of the slightest possible use to you in after life, save only this, that if you work hard and intelligently you should be able to detect when a man is talking rot, and that, in my view, is the main, if not the sole, purpose of education.

Thanks for posting this. It needs wide distribution.

Actually, UT is just following after the University of the South in Sewanee, Tn. This Episcopal school has done this kind of crap for several years. I presume they still are.

The only thing of value there is “preventing sexual assault”, and they can learn what they need to know from Professors Smith and Wesson;)

Actually Knoxville {Jimmy Duncan's Congressional District} and East Tennessee in general outside out the UT campus is conservative. But we have a daily paper www.knoxnews.com which to put it mildly is gung ho liberal. They'll go after area local and state GOP officials with a vengeance. Stacy Campfield is one of the papers favorite targets. With the exception of a disgraced judge the paper will shy away of being critical of any Democratic office holder or any Liberal policies.

Denver, Colorado Freepers you can have your editor back now LOL.

Oh BTW last fall a Frat House on UT Campus engaged in a widely publicized rectal alcohol sampling party which also made headlines. You'd think UT’s Board of Directors and the State Board of Regents would get a clue.

When I matriculated in the fall of 1966, the scandal was underage participation in sherry receptions. Seems tame, but it was a signal. Green light!

In other porn news, legendary male star Harry Reems died the other day from pancreatic cancer. Perhaps the kids at UT-K can study his career...
