The criticisms flash by in rapid fashion: Poorly timed. Dumb. Out of touch. Suicidal.
No, thats not how a new report describes the flaws of the Republican Party. Instead, those words describe the party leaders who wrote and released the report. They even called it an autopsy.
Talk about a death wish...

Is this a plan for the future or a suicide note?...

No, but the RINOs need political obits.
The Left Wing of the RINO Party has chosen their target audience: The Democrat voter.
It's a cri de Coeur from the GOPe. It's saying "our efforts aren't cutting it with voters any more, and we don't know what to do."
It's saying "We need to be replaced, but we're too dumb to do it ourselves."
The article is pretty spot on.
The GOP is Goliath against The Tea Party’s David -. Looks like the GOP may remember how that turned out.
If with their “autopsy” the GOP elites are admitting that their party is dead, who are we to argue?
The article does raise an interesting point: the correct name for this is “post mortem”, which is an established term for hashing out an event after the fact for what went right and what didn’t. Sounds like an autopsy, but that’s just not the right word.
How like our party “leaders”, to be on the right track and yet miss the point entirely.
Got a call from the RNC today. Told them that the “autopsy” was so stupid that I never wanted to hear from them again.
“If the NY Post gets it, and they’re no fans of Republicans”
Where have you been?
The NY Post has been the [editorially] conservative paper in New York since the 1990’s...
Sorry, I had them mixed up with the NYT. Conservative in NYC is largely an oxymoron. If, indeed, the NY Post IS conservative in NYC, they fight a lost cause.
Rushing to cave into your adversaries' demands while doing all possible to silence those who would swing the pendulum back to the right a little is not a winning strategy.
With their negotiating skills, these guys couldn't buy the cleanup duty at a livestock auction (something someone would normally get paid to do).
Maybe if they watched Pawn Stars and saw who got what they wanted (or more) and took note of how they negotiated, they'd learn something. My grandkids are better horse traders.
(1) Illegal immigrants have primitive survival instincts honed in corrupt Third World places where everything is for sale. The survivalist instincts of illegals DO NOT correspond to "labels" that we here in America consider sacrosanct---ie. Republican, conservative, etc. Illegalism is all about "what's in it for me, and who do I payoff to get it."
(2) The stupid Repubs are falling into Ohaha's cunning trap---he uses issues like immigration reform (and sequestration) as a wedge---to divide and conqueur. Ohaha and the Dims are salivating about total govt control---lying in wait to takeover the US govt.
(3) Even if we were to stand foursquare with the GOP to embrace reform, it's much too late. The Dems are w-a-a-a-y ahead of us in mining votes from immigrant groups---the Dims have been sucking-up to latinos like crazy.
================================================
Dim Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi recently told Chris Wallace on Fox News, "It is almost a false argument (made by Repubs) to say that we have a spending problem (WRT sequestration)." (TRANSLATION "And besides, we need trillions to subsidize all our "new citizens" who will vote---and make me Majority Leader, again---not to mention the billions in foreign aid we plan to give to all the countries on the other side of the border.")

I suspect that they suffer from Stockholm Syndrome. The elected conservatives I know here in Illinois are under constant psychological assault. Petty little things are done to them, things that never make it into the media or public eye. These are people who sit on local boards where budgets aren’t enormous and lobbying is minimal.
Imagine being a conservative in the heart of the Behomoth. Everybody you meet is pro-government. Government is their bread and butter. Even other “conservatives” don’t have pure motives and want a piece of the action. The stakes are billions of dollars.
If you want information or need constituent services it’s easy to be placed at the back of the line or conscientiously ignored/delayed. If you take your spouse out for a dinner and a show everything is political. You’re surrounded by the opulence of government money - every night there is another prestigious event built on the premise of government funding.
The worst thing we have is a federal capital city where all our politicians live. They leave home committed to the cause, but breathe that air too long and you’re infected.
If they were smart they’d polish some of the TEA Party candidates and chalk up some wins. But they’re not smart at least not in that way. They crave power and like DC, the heavy center of it.
Agreed. Where they started blowing it was trying to scuttle Sarah Palin as soon as they realized she wasn't going to be a quiet token on the ticket, and began to outclass McCain in popularity among Conservatives. Her staff had more "leaks" than a screen door on a submarine, tailored for the MSM to dive on.
They've doubled down on that stupidity since, repeatedly, kicking Conservatives to the curb and throwing them under the bus, and underfunding campaigns to let TEA party candidates come up short whenever they can.
You have to have a lot of ego to run for politics and that same beneficial trait is your undoing. They need someone whispering in their ear, “you’re just a mortal man and all is fleeting.”
