Pediatrics Group Backs Gay Marriage, Saying It Helps Children

The American Academy of Pediatrics declared its support for same-sex marriage for the first time on Thursday, saying that allowing gay and lesbian parents to marry if they so choose is in the best interests of their children.

When marriage is not an option, the academy said, children should not be deprived of foster care or adoption by single parents or couples, whatever their sexual orientation.
The academy’s review of scientific literature began more than four years ago, and the result is a 10-page report with 60 citations.
“If the studies are different in their design and sample but the results continue to be similar, that gives scientists and consumers more faith in the result,” said Dr. Ellen Perrin, a co-author of the new policy and a professor of pediatrics at Tufts University School of Medicine.
Other scientists called the evidence lackluster and said the academy’s endorsement was premature. Loren Marks, an associate professor of child and family studies at Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge, said there was not enough national data to support the pediatric association’s position on same-sex marriage. “National policy should be informed by nationally representative data,” he said. “We are moving in the direction of higher-quality national data, but it’s slow.”

Calling bad good and good bad for kids is as despicable an action as they could take. They’re not satisfied to live out their lives in as nutty as fashion as they want. They insist that everyone applaud them and join the rush to perversity. The inmates are in every sense running the asylum.
These people just became less reliable as an information source than the National Enquirer.
Remember they use the term “in the bedroom” and “Privacy of their own home” when they are asserting their perversions into every single facet of your life.
In this day and age of all pervasive state propaganda, it should be generally assumed that any “official view” by a “professional organisation” is functioning as a lockstep political organ of the ministry of truth. It’s sad to be so cynical, but those are the times we live in.

Nope, it’s the type of people that are attracted to bureaucracies and crave control. I knew a past president of the AMA and he was way, way left of any other doctor I knew. These are political activities given the veneer of science by the historically prestigious organizations the left has coopted.

The great thing is the source is liberal, super liberal. They cannot deny the facts. We’ve no science that “normalizes” homosexuality. It is most likely a mental illness - some form of sexual retardation or immaturity.

The meme was that this is about consenting adults in private. When does the child consent to being brought into an alternative lifestyle home?
When that child shows up at get togethers, the adults' lifestyle choice is no longer private.
