OKLAHOMA CITY -- The federal government has informed Oklahoma Insurance Commissioner John Doak that it intends to take over swaths of insurance regulation in the state to ensure compliance with the Affordable Care Act – commonly known as “Obamacare.”

The federal Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services is notifying insurers in Oklahoma that it will handle enforcement of the ACA. In a March 15 letter to Doak, the agency notified the Insurance Department of its responsibility to enforce the ACA in Oklahoma because the state has declined to do so. Should Oklahoma enact“market reform requirements,” according to the letter, the federal government will consider transitioning regulations to the state.

“Bottom line: if it comes to “us” vs “them”, the “them” will include a large majority of the cops.”

So be it.

If Oklahoma and Texas seceded tomorrow it would not surprise me one bit, and I would CHEER THEM ON.

I doubt that any secession in the strict sense of the word will be necessary.

The more the communists go out of control in the occupied States the more good American Citizens will pack up and leave them in their dust.

The Free States are steadily gaining motivated common sense Americans that do not allow revocation of their rights. They are good solid workers and reliable voters, having already voted with their feet. Same goes with successful businesses.

The Free States will eventually be so successful with their superior population, both economically and in their respect for liberty, there will no longer be a need for secession. They will simply let the communist states crumble into nothingness. The commie occupied states will have "Gone Detroit."

Free states will have “gone success.”

Think Magpul, Beretta, etc.

Think "Secession by Success!"

The successful respecters of freedom are not limited to the Second Amendment. The more the commies demand control over basic liberties, the more they will eat the dust of successful producers and the weaker the commies become.

Oh, look... it's TEA time.

At some point, the fedgov will be simply unable to force states to comply.

They’ll be too broke and spread too thin and the states will just thumb their noses at them.

Well....since our taxes pay their salaries....

the answer and solution to this (yet more) Big Government Tyranny should be obvious. And if that doesn’t work....

there is always another rather obvious solution. And it looks like it’s coming down to that alternative even sooner than we thought.

Only partially. Remember 40% is created out of thin air by the magic of Bernanke/Lew.

understand the sentiment but slavery is too attached to this flag.

better to ressurect the stars in a circle pattern on the blue, or the gadsden with stars in a circle.

Well now, Alrighty Then!

I don’t see Sen Tom Coburn’s constituents rolling over and saying, “Please Sir, may I have another.”

Obama’s minions should have picked an easier nut to crack, since it’s obvious they’re planning to make this a show of strength.

Nullification!

If the states won’t do it, the people can.

That, is my fondest wish, too. Well said!

I don’t know. The high water mark is the Confederacy’s 250,000 or so deaths out of a population of 9 million or so, not counting slaves. To answer your question, then, the states will take a lot.

I hope OK tells them to F off.

In order to do this. Oklahoma has to immediately stop taking state welfare. If they do this, then they can survive telling the feds to F off. If they can’t survive without the federal government, then the government will continue forcing anything they can on the states. States need to figure out how to survive on their own.

That is a myth. Perhaps federal law enforcement will side the government. State and local far less likely. I spent 26 years as a city cop. I can tell you that in my experience, particularly in the West and the South, few local law enforcement officers have any love for the feds. In point of fact, my state representative group recently voted unanimously, to direct our lobbyists in D.C. to oppose any gun control measures except those designed to limit the power of the executive. In the state legislature, I only last week put together a position paper on behalf of my two representative groups, supporting a bill designed to nullify any gun control measures issued by the Executive office and to require the State AG or Governor to file suit over the same. No....not all law enforcement stands with the fed....

By a vote of 72-20, the state House of Representatives passed House Bill 1021, a bill that if signed into law would stop the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (known as ObamaCare) at the borders of the sovereign state of Oklahoma.

I would call that a mandate. OK won.

What are you even talking about? Surely “free states” can outperform Michigan, California, and other deadbeats. But we’re all under the thumb of the same national government. What you’d be seceding from, if at all, is the feds, not your fellow states. You can’t secede from them through success. Success would merely doom you to bail out less successful states.

I’m in TX, but I’ll stand with OK. This is the kind of tyranny that is worth fighting a war over.

The things they buy with thin air money have to be paid for somehow. Higher prices are the tax. Everyone pays it, especially savers.
