For a president of the United States, the personal is inevitably political. But there is one annual event at the White House that truly is personal for its current chief resident — or at least as personal as anything can be in the most watched building in the country.

President Obama’s upcoming Passover Seder, scheduled for March 25, will host just 20 or so participants this year — more or less the same core crowd that has been attending it since 2008, when three young staffers began the tradition while on the campaign trail and then-senator Obama surprised them by dropping in...

First Family and Friends Put Own Spin on Passover Tradition

Welcoming Elijah: First Lady Michelle Obama lights candles to begin last year’s White House Seder. She and her husband will host another Seder this year on Monday night.

Despite the addition, the Seder is decidedly nonpolitical

"Next year in the White House" is nonpolitcial?

I hit the abuse button on someone earlier today for too much profanity, so to avoid the same happening to me, I probably better just shut up.

I have always understood that although non-Jews may attend a Seder, it should only be hosted by Jews.

How is the WH Seder different from all others?

Satan does not host all other Seders?

Oh, come on, admit it. You laughed.

You mean it’s still pc to call it a Passover Seder, not a “Spring” Seder (like the “Spring” Egg Roll on the WH lawn)?

I would love to know whether the three Jews mentioned in the article attend synagogue on a regular basis.

If they are “cultural” Jews then I can see their allowing this vile and wicked man defile their religious observance.

But if they are committed, practicing Jews, then the whole thing simply boggles my mind.

The only analogous thing I can think of is if he showed up for Easter mass and said “step aside Father, I’ll be performing the Holy Rites today.”

The very thought makes me sick. Abomination of Desolation.

I’m confused. Are they rolling spring rolls or egg rolls?

#16> They are going to roll Matzoh Balls, and will save two for Boehner. He needs some balls, of any kind.

I’d like to know if anyone is going to say the traditional “Next year in Jerusalem” or will it be the obama policy, “Next year in Tel Aviv”, or “Cairo”, or “Gaza”?
