The college really should apologize for making parents pay to have their kids stomp on a piece of paper with anything written on it and calling it college level instruction.

THAT is the apology that must be made.
I am a Christian, so I love Jesus. If people want to insult Him and disparage Him, even if they want to try to lead others to do the same, let them. Compared to God they are tiny, pathetic, shrill little creatures, but He loves them enough to have suffered the death of the cross for them.
However, if they try to exercise their violence and hatred on those of us who love God, then we must be prepared for that; either to be martyred, as were many of His saints throughout time, or to fight back, as Christians did in Tours and Vienna when threatened by the invading Moslem tyranny.
Which is the correct response? I would have to say that it depends on how the Lord is leading you. We have many examples of martyrdom and of armed resistance, both blessed by God.
But whatever happens, we must remember that, “We ought to obey God rather than men,” Acts 5:29.
