Scary stuff. Whenever some idiot mentions Mao, they should be blasted.

Glenn Beck did a good job with Anita Dunn.

During the “Cultural Revolution” academics were sent to the fields to shovel dung until they died. Perhaps, if the elites in the academia and the public school system reflected on that fact, they’d have a different view about Mao.

“Our attitude towards ourselves should be ‘to be satiable in learning’ and towards others ‘to be tireless in teaching,”

What does this quote even mean? “Satiable in learning,” seems to mean “we already know it all.”

“...In Shanghai, suicide by jumping from tall buildings became so commonplace that residents avoided walking on the pavement near skyscrapers for fear that suicides might land on them. Some biographers have pointed out that driving those perceived as enemies to suicide was a common tactic during the Mao-era. For example, in his biography of Mao, Philip Short notes that in the Yan’an Rectification Movement, Mao gave explicit instructions that “no cadre is to be killed,” but in practice allowed security chief Kang Sheng to drive opponents to suicide and that “this pattern was repeated throughout his leadership of the People’s Republic...”

This is a great strategy. Just put up the quote you know constitutionalists will find outrageous until it’s found and then remove it. Wait a while until everyone forgets and put up more communist crap and then if they find it, take it down...wash and repeat.

Mao Zedong :"Political power grows out of the barrel of a gun."
At least he told the truth about not letting them have our guns.

It was no mistake or oversight or ignorance of who Mao was.

In a perverse sort of way, what the ChiComs did to the academics was a good idea: make them live like the working man.

An American version of this would be to make them work at Walmart and live on a working man’s salary.

Wonder how long any of them would last and if it would disabuse them of their idiot notions.

LOL

We know that will never happen because it would drastically reduce the big $$ that overpaid univ profs and admins contribute to Dems. (part of the Big Education cycle)

The fact that Mao was quoted is not nearly as bad as the fact that they BOTCHED THE QUOTE.

Mao didn’t say that he wanted people to be “satiable in learning”; he said EXACTLY THE OPPOSITE: he wanted people to “insatiable in learning”. (See http://www.marxists.org/reference/archive/mao/selected-works/volume-2/mswv2_10.htm for evidence of this assertion.) It’s not a bad sentiment, even if it was expressed by Mao.

Not only are the Dept of “Education” folks commie sympathizers, they are also morons.

The public re-education system in America is nothing but a giant Marxist moron mill.
