A police investigation has been launched into the death of the 67-year-old - a wanted man in Russia, and an opponent of President Vladimir Putin. A former Kremlin power-broker whose fortunes declined under Mr Putin, Mr Berezovsky emigrated to the UK in 2000. Thames Valley Police said the death, at a property in Ascot, Berkshire, was being treated as unexplained. The area around the property has been cordoned off to allow the investigation to take place, the force said. The inquiry was at a very early stage and more details will be released when available, it added. A South Central Ambulance Service spokeswoman said it had been called to the property at 15:18 GMT. "We sent a number of ambulance officers and an ambulance to the address. The 67-year-old male was confirmed deceased at the scene,"

Bump.

Except you missed the part, that we do not even make things in America anymore.

That is the problem. Bring back US jobs.

I’m series.

“It would seem Russia is still a country run by non-emasculated men so they are advancing while we wither in a nanny state dominated by women who don’t really want to be women and men who cater to them.”

Russia is run by “former” communists and KGB who take no thought about killing people, men, women and children, who stand in their way. I’ve heard of stories even recently of Russian journalists disappearing, getting beaten to death with sticks, getting shot at their front door, taking a convenient dive out of a window, or getting put into insane asylums, because they reported on something Putin didn’t like.

He is a killer, and I hope that God takes revenge soon.

Visit Shanghai or Sydney or Kuala Lumpur or Singapore some time. You will suddenly feel very poor.

The USA is becoming a country of quaint old villages of retirees and crumbling cities populated by violent factions of official thugs looting wealth from one another in the name of the downtrodden.

I agree with your characterization.
However don’t forget to add the continued presence of agriculture also.

I think Russia has the shortest life span of any majority white country.

Why any FReepers say anything positive about Putin is beyond me.

Unfortunately they are unfettered by a good religion. That’s what made us so exceptional.

There is a guy who wrote a sort of history of the rise and fall of countries. They go from their aggressive male dominated adventurous and inventive stage, become successful and then end up being feminized and afraid to do anything but live off what their ancestors created. Then they fall, usually because they’re overrun by “newer” more aggressive cultures.

That would be Moldova. Anyway it is true that Russian male lifespans have increased from 58 to 64 during the Putin years. The support for Putin has to do with the absolute disaster Russia was in when he took office. If you went to Russia in 2000 it was an entirely different place than today. Sure there are still tons of problems but his support within in the country comes from the fact that the average man in the street is without a doubt quite a bit better off today than when he came into office.

Berezovsky was quickly running out of money. He used up his entire fortune supporting the opposition in and outside Russia. He seemed to sincerely believe he could be successful in fomenting revolution in Russia. His ex-wife took a lot of what was left and his loss in the court case against Abramovich cost him what little reputation and money he had left. He was down to his last million and for a former billionaire that had to be quite humiliating. He had to be under a lot of stress and was quite overweight.

Thanks for the correction. I could see why many Russians support him, just not any FReepers. I was unaware things have became far better in Russia.

Now I have to read up on Moldova.

True some Russians do die of natural causes.. though its very rare..
Usually they die with givernment assistance.. but some do actually expire..

I hear it’s a curse to die naturally in China.. most are fortunate enough to get givernment help..
Been that way since the year ONE....
